Siloxane tackifying resin layers as adhesion promotion agents
Layers of siloxane tackifying resins that do not contain siloxane fluids, gums or polymers act as adhesion promotion agents. Articles include a substrate layer, a non-tacky siloxane tackifying resin adhesion promotion layer disposed on the surface of the substrate layer, and a crosslinked siloxane layer in contact with the adhesion promotion layer. The crosslinked siloxane layer is not an adhesive layer. The adhesion of the crosslinked siloxane layer to the substrate is greater than the adhesion without the non-tacky siloxane tackifying adhesion promotion layer.

A method of making a crystallographically-oriented metallic film with a two-dimensional crystal layer, comprising the steps of providing a metal film on a substrate, transferring a two-dimensional crystal layer onto the metal film and forming a two-dimensional crystal layer on metal film complex, heating the two-dimensional crystal layer on metal film complex, and forming a crystallographically-oriented metallic film with a two-dimensional crystal layer. A crystallographically-oriented metallic film with a two-dimensional crystal layer, comprising a substrate, a metal film on the substrate, a two-dimensional crystal layer on the metal film on the substrate, and a tunable microstructure within the porous metal/two-dimensional crystal layer on the substrate, wherein the metal film has crystallographic registry to the two-dimensional crystal layer.
Graphite sheet and method for manufacturing same
A graphite sheet having a ratio of thermal diffusivity in horizontal and vertical directions of 300 or more is disclosed. Also, a graphite sheet having a ratio of thermal diffusivity in a vertical direction of 2.0 mm.sup.2/s or less is disclosed. The graphite sheet has excellent thermal conductivity in horizontal and vertical directions and excellent flexibility at the same time and can be produced at low manufacturing cost, thereby holding an economic advantage.
Graphite sheet and method for manufacturing same
A graphite sheet having a ratio of thermal diffusivity in horizontal and vertical directions of 300 or more is disclosed. Also, a graphite sheet having a ratio of thermal diffusivity in a vertical direction of 2.0 mm.sup.2/s or less is disclosed. The graphite sheet has excellent thermal conductivity in horizontal and vertical directions and excellent flexibility at the same time and can be produced at low manufacturing cost, thereby holding an economic advantage.
Curable polysiloxane compositions and slippery materials and coatings and articles made therefrom
The present teachings generally provide curable polysiloxane compositions including a base resin including a surface active polymer. Articles of manufacture including the curable polysiloxane compositions and slippery coatings and materials also are provided. The compositions may be used to provide slippery, lubricious, or repellent materials and coatings and may provide anti-fouling function. The compositions can provide anti-fouling or foul-release function on open surfaces, internal surfaces, membranes; to provide pinning free or low contact angle hysteresis surfaces; to provide homogeneous interface to suppress nucleation; to provide a barrier layer such as anti-corrosion; to provide anti-stain, anti-smudge, anti-fingerprint, anti-soil function.
Fastener retention and anti-camout tool bit
A tool bit with a surface layer metallurgically bonded on a substrate layer using electrospark deposition (ESD) that allows the tool bit to reduce camout and engage a fastener head for one-handed starting and removal. The surface layer has a rougher finish, compared to conventional tool bits, and therefore better grips engagement surfaces of a mating recess of the fastener during use. The reduction of camout provides greater durability to the tool bit and resists erosion and wear of the engagement surfaces of the fastener.
Flexible carbon fiber decorative veneer
A flexible carbon fiber decorative veneer may include a veneer panel assembly with a face layer formed from a carbon fiber material, a backing layer formed from a flexible fleece, and an adhesive configured to attach the face layer to the backing layer through activation via at least one joining process. The backing layer may be configured to prevent light from passing through voids or interstitial spaces in the carbon fiber material of the face layer when the backing layer is attached to the face layer via the adhesive. The flexible carbon fiber decorative veneer may be configured for use on an aircraft interior structure, the base structure for which being fabricated from an aviation honeycomb layer and a back panel. The veneer panel assembly may be configured to conform to a radius of at least 0.25 inches on the aircraft interior structure.

One aspect of the present invention provides a composite sheet which comprises a nitride sintered body having a porous structure and a semi-cured product of a thermosetting resin composition impregnated into the nitride sintered body, the line roughness Rz specified by JIS B 0601:2013 of at least one main surface being 10 μm or less.
PELLICLE MEMBRANE, PELLICLE, MEMBRANE, GRAPHENE SHEET, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE GRAPHENE SHEET
A technique that enables production of pellicle membranes that are better resistant to breakage when subjected to force exerted thereon in the thickness direction thereof and that have high transmittance to light. A pellicle membrane of the present invention includes a plurality of laminated layers, where at least one of the layers is provided with at least one hole having a width or diameter of 10 nm to 500 nm.
Switchable objects and methods of manufacture
A simplified switchable object and methods of making same are provided. The methods may include steps of applying a switchable material on a first surface of a first substrate, the switchable material having a thickness and a shape; applying a barrier material on the first substrate, circumferential to the switchable material; and applying a second substrate over top of, and in contact with, the switchable material and the barrier material, the first substrate, second substrate and barrier material defining a closed chamber encapsulating the switchable material. The methods may further include a step of applying a seal material.
