Provided is an electromagnetic-wave interference type electromagnetic-wave absorbing sheet that can favorably absorb electromagnetic waves in a desired frequency band while having high flexibility and light transmittance and being handled easily. The electromagnetic-wave absorbing sheet having flexibility and light transmittance includes an electric resistance film 1, a dielectric layer 2 and an electromagnetic-wave shielding layer 3 that each have light transmittance and that are stacked. The electric resistance film is formed of a conductive organic polymer, and the electromagnetic-wave shielding layer has an aperture ratio of 35% or more and 85% or less.

Provided is a water repellent coating film, including: an undercoat layer formed on a surface of a base material and containing: at least one type of spherical particles having an average particle diameter of 2 μm or more and 50 μm or less and selected from the group consisting of spherical molten silica particles, spherical molten alumina particles, and spherical silicone resin particles; and an underlying resin; and a topcoat layer formed on the undercoat layer and containing: inorganic fine particles having an average particle diameter of 2 nm or more and 20 nm or less; and a water repellent resin. The underlying resin is preferably a polyurethane resin or a fluororesin. The water repellent resin is preferably a fluororesin or a silicone resin.

The base spunbond web includes a plurality of fibers generally oriented in the machine direction and exhibiting a machine direction tensile strength and cross-machine direction tensile strength. The ratio of the machine direction tensile strength to the cross-machine direction tensile strength is about 4:1 or more.
CD extensible nonwoven composite
A nonwoven composite that has a dimension in a machine direction and a cross-machine direction is provided. The composite comprises a nonwoven facing positioned adjacent to an elastic film. The nonwoven facing contains a spunbond web that is formed by necking a base spunbond web. The base spunbond web includes a plurality of fibers generally oriented in the machine direction and exhibiting a machine direction tensile strength and cross-machine direction tensile strength. The ratio of the machine direction tensile strength to the cross-machine direction tensile strength is about 4:1 or more.
Cycloolefin polymer bonding method
A cycloolefin polymer (COP) bonding method wherein a first material that is COP and a second material that is COP or glass are bonded. The method includes: a step of exposing at least a bonding surface of the first material to H.sub.2O plasma; and a step of mating the bonding surface of the first material and a bonding surface of the second material. According to the method, the cycloolefin polymer (COP) can be bonded to a target material without applying high pressure or high temperature, and without affecting the optical properties.

Elasticated materials and articles comprising elasticated materials are disclosed. In an embodiment, an elasticated material may comprise a first layer, second layer, an elastomeric strand disposed between the first and second layers, and a plurality of bonds bonding the first and second layers together. The strand may have straight and arcuate portions. The bonds may comprise a first and a second bond and may be disposed on opposite sides of the strand and separated a distance less than an un-tensioned diameter of the strand. The first and second bonds may be disposed along a strand straight portion. The plurality of bonds may further comprise a third and fourth bond which are longitudinally adjacent and disposed on opposite sides of the strand and spaced apart a distance greater than the un-tensioned diameter of the strand. The third and fourth bonds may be disposed along a strand arcuate portion.
