INTEGRALLY MOLDED BODY AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SAME
An integrally molded body includes a separate structure (C) joined to at least a part of an end section of a sandwich structure constituted of a core layer composed of discontinuous fibers and a thermoplastic resin (A) and a skin layer composed of continuous fibers and a resin (B), wherein: the sandwich structure has a stepped section at least at a part of the end section; the stepped section is constituted of a main body section forming a high surface in the stepped section, an interface section forming an interface connecting the high surface and a low surface of the stepped section, and a thinnest section having a core layer having a porosity lower than a porosity of a core layer in the main body section; and the separate structure (C) does not contact the interface, and is joined to only at least a part of the thinnest section.
Acoustic liners and method of shaping an inlet of an acoustic liner
An acoustic liner for a turbine engine, the acoustic liner includes a support layer that includes a set of partitioned cavities with open faces, a perforated sheet that includes a set of perforations with corresponding inlets, the perforated sheet supported by the support layer such that perforations are in overlying relationship with the open faces to form paired perforations and cavities that define acoustic resonator cells, and a coating applied to the perforated sheet.
Self-indicating backing paper and methods for use
Example systems and methods are described including backing paper for use with uncured pre-impregnated material. An example system includes a backing paper having a first surface and a second surface. The system also includes a coating material positioned on the first surface of the backing paper. A blowing agent is encapsulated within the coating material.
Interlocking wear-resistant panel system
A wear panel for mining and materials handling applications is provided. The wear panel includes a housing matrix (1) with a top surface (2), a bottom surface (3) opposite the top surface (2) and at least one cavity (4) with cavity walls (5). The cavity (4) extends through the top surface (2) and the bottom surface (3). The wear panel also includes at least one wear-resistant member (6) with a preformed shape. The at least one wear-resistant member (6) has a top surface (7) and a bottom surface (8) opposite the top surface (7). The wear-resistant members (6) are disposed in the cavity (4) and are locked into place by their preformed shape and the cavity walls (5).
Structured body having hydrophobic surface, and method for producing the same
A structured body including: a formed body, the surface of which being formed of an underlying resin layer (1); and fine particles distributed on the underlying resin layer (1) on the surface of the formed body, wherein the structured body is characterized in that wax (3) is distributed on the surface of the underlying resin layer (1) together with fine particles (7), and the wax (3) is partly absorbed into the underlying resin layer (1).
BOARD AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BOARD
A board consisting at least of a substrate formed at least of a gypsum-based and/or cement-based basic material layer. The board is provided with a chamfer extending through the basic material layer.
Internally reinforced aerogel and uses thereof
A composite comprising a non-fibrous organic polymer aerogel layer having a first surface and an opposing second surface and a support layer having a first surface and an opposing second surface is disclosed. An interface can be formed between a portion of the first surface of the aerogel layer and a portion of the second surface of the support layer such that the aerogel and support layers are attached to one another. A majority of the volume of the aerogel layer does not have to include the support layer. The composite can have a thickness of 3 mils to 16 mils.
FLEXIBLE COMPOSITE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
In various embodiments, an improved flexible-composite material is described that comprises at least one scrim constructed from at least two unidirectional tape layers bonded together and at least one woven fabric, non-woven fabric, or membrane bonded to the scrim. In various embodiments, the unidirectional tape layers comprise a plurality of parallel fiber bundles comprising monofilaments within an adhesive resin. In various embodiments, the fiber bundles are separated by gaps that can be filled in by adhesive or non-adhesive resin.
Board and method for manufacturing a board
A board consisting at least of a substrate formed at least of a gypsum-based and/or cement-based basic material layer. The board is provided with a chamfer extending through the basic material layer.
Internally reinforced aerogel and uses thereof
Internally reinforced aerogels, articles of manufacture and uses thereof are described. An internally reinforced aerogel includes an aerogel having a support at least partially penetrating the aerogel and having the aerogel penetrating the porous structure of the support.
