The process includes (i) providing a post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PCR-PP) having a melt flow rate (MFR I.sub.2) equal to, or greater than, 7.0 g/10 min; (ii) adding a 4,4′-oxydibenzenesulfonyl azide (DPO-BSA) to the PCR-PP; (iii) melt blending the PCR-PP with the DPO-BSA; and (iv) forming a DPO-BSA coupled PCR-PP having a melt flow rate (MFR I.sub.2) equal to, or less than, 5 g/10 min.
SHEET MATERIAL CONTAINER
[Problem to be Solved] To prevent delamination of a film layer in a sheet material container in which an enclosing portion is formed in an interlayer between a first film layer and a second film layer.
[Solution] A sheet material container includes a container body 6, and an inner container 7 that is covered by the container body 6 and defines an accommodation space, wherein the container body 6 is formed of a sheet material 3 including a first film layer 1 and a second film layer 2 disposed inside the first film layer 1, the sheet material 3 has a joint portion 32 at which an interlayer between the first film layer 1 and the second film layer 2 is joined and an enclosing portion 51 in which a filler can be enclosed in the interlayer between the first film layer 1 and the second film layer 2, and the first film layer 1 has an extruded multilayer structural part having a polyolefin resin layer 11/an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin layer 12 on a side facing the enclosing portion 51.
Sound protection panel for cladding a wall of an automotive vehicle
The invention relates to a sound protection panel for cladding a wall of an automotive vehicle, the panel includes a mass-spring system. The panel has a lower spring layer based on a resiliently compressible material, an upper mass layer based on resiliently compressible foam flakes, the flakes being bound together by a two-component fibre-based bonding agent comprising a core. The core is fusible at a high temperature or infusible, and a sheath fusible at a lower temperature, the flakes being fused with the sheath to form an upper agglomerated layer.
Display assembly with recycled content for an information handling system
An increase in the amount of recycled plastic used in a display assembly can be obtained by introducing other types of plastic material that allow increasing the recyclable content beyond 25% without significantly lowering the strength properties of the plastic. The recycled plastic materials may be assembled together with a bio-based material. One example display assembly with higher recycled plastic content while maintaining sufficient plastic strength is an assembly having an external frame having 70% recycled PC ABS mixed with 30% fresh PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide), a diffuser optical film having 60-80% recycled PET mixed with fresh PET, and a light guide path (e.g., plate) having 70% recycled PC mixed with fresh COP (Cyclo Olefin Polymers). The stiffness strength of the display assembly may further be improved by laminating the display assembly with biodegradable adhesives and/or edge-bonded with ultrasound or laser fusion.
Resin composition, melt-forming material, multilayer structure, and liquid packaging material
A resin composition contains: (A) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer; (B) an olefin polymer; and (C) a sorbic acid ester; wherein the sorbic acid ester (C) is present in an amount of 0.00001 to 10 ppm based on the weight of the resin composition. The resin composition exhibits reduced susceptibility to coloration.
Recyclable PET film
The present invention relates to a multilayer, coextruded polyester film including at least one outer layer (A) and a base layer (B), in which the at least one outer layer (A) includes, to an extent of at least 60 wt %, a polyester or a copolyester formed from units derived from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and diols, wherein the units derived from dicarboxylic acids are selected from one or more dicarboxylic acids from the group of succinic acid, adipic acid, suberic acid, azelaic acid and sebacic acid, and the units derived from diols are selected from one or more diols from the group of ethylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,4-butanediol and neopentyl glycol.
The present invention further relates to a process for producing the film according to the invention, to the use thereof and to a process for recycling the polyester film according to the invention.
PCR FLEXIBLE TUBE CONTAINER
A flexible tube container comprising a side wall formed from a multi-layer polymeric material, the side wall comprising a longitudinal weld or join, the multi-layer polymeric material comprising a thickness of between 200 and 400 micrometers, said multi-layer polymeric material comprising at least one layer of virgin polyolefin based and at least one layer of post-consumer resin or recycled material, wherein the multi-layer polymeric material is produced with a step of pushing action towards the interior of the sheet with no subsequent extrusion or lamination step, and the layer of virgin polyolefin is an outermost layer.
Recyclable flexible films and bags for packaging flowable materials
The disclosure provides ethylene/α-olefin copolymer based co-extruded, multi-layer films, including barrier films and non-barrier films, and articles of manufacture that include the films, such as flexible bags and containers for flowable materials. The films and articles that include the films have improved flex-crak resistance and toughness. The films and articles that include the films have good barrier properties as the barrier films include a core layer of ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer having a high ethylene content. The low amount of EVOH copolymer in the total film that is needed to achieve the flex-crack resistance, toughness, and good barrier properties, further allow for the recycling of the films and articles of manufacture.
LAMINATE, PACKAGING BAG, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided is a laminate that is excellent in heat sealing properties and is suitable for reuse. The laminate includes: a first layer having a melting point of Tm.sub.1 and containing a first polyethylene alone as a resin; and a second layer having a melting point of Tm.sub.2 and containing a second polyethylene alone as a resin, where: the first layer and the second layer are disposed respectively as outermost surfaces of the laminate; and Tm.sub.1−Tm.sub.2≥24.0° C. is satisfied.
