The teachings herein are directed at solid polymeric adhesive compositions for adhering metal components, methods for compounding the polymeric adhesive compositions, articles including a component having the polymeric adhesive composition, methods for producing articles including curing a solid adhesive, and articles including the cured adhesive. Preferred solid polymeric adhesive compositions include a plurality of one or more epoxy resins and one or more polysulfones. In one preferred aspect, the teachings are directed at a stator ring (e.g., for a hybrid motor) including the polymeric adhesive composition for adhering components to a ring.

The second major surface includes a structured non-planar release surface. A backfill layer is disposed upon and conforms to the non-planar structured surface. The backfill layer includes a first cross-linked polymer and a plurality of multifunctional monomers, which cure via different and independent curing mechanisms.

A light guiding liquid glue and a touch sensitive display using the same are provided. The light guiding liquid glue includes a liquid glue and a plurality of light guiding particles dispersed in the liquid glue, wherein volume percent of the light guiding particles in the light guiding liquid glue ranges between 10% and 50%. The light guiding particles have a light scattering property, which can transfer a linear light into a flat light, and therefore the light guiding liquid glue of the present disclosure has a light guiding property. The touch sensitive display includes a display panel and a touch panel. The light guiding liquid glue is disposed between the display panel and the touch panel, which can transmit evenly lights emitted from the display panel to outside of the touch sensitive display.

A wind turbine blade is reinforced while suppressing possible stress concentration resulting from a load imposed on a blade root portion of the wind turbine blade in a flap direction. The wind turbine blade includes a blade main body extending from the blade root portion toward a blade tip portion and an FRP reinforcing layer formed so as to cover at least a part of the outer surface of the blade root portion of the blade main body. The FRP reinforcing layer includes a plurality of laminated fiber layers and a resin with which the plurality of fiber layers is impregnated. The FRP reinforcing layer is formed such that, in a cross section along a longitudinal direction of the blade main body, both ends of the plurality of laminated fiber layers in the longitudinal direction are tapered.
EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION AND TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPRISING SAME, AND LAMINATED BOARD
An epoxy resin composition, a transparent composite material including the same, and a laminated board. The epoxy resin composition includes an epoxy resin A and an epoxy resin B. The refractive index of the epoxy resin A is 1.54-1.8 and the light transmittance of the epoxy resin A is 90%. The refractive index of the epoxy resin B is 1.54-1.8 and the light transmittance of the epoxy resin B is greater than 90%. The epoxy resin A is an organosilicon modified epoxy resin. The epoxy resin B is another type of epoxy resin. The organosilicon modified epoxy resin satisfying a specific condition and another type of epoxy resin also satisfying the specific condition are combined to form a specific epoxy resin composition. The composite material prepared from the epoxy resin composition, a curing agent, and a curing accelerator has the advantages of having high light transmittance and high bending strength, and also has high bonding strength.
Cured product of resin composition, laminate, and resin composition
A cured product of a resin composition according to the present invention includes at least silsesquioxane. When the average thermal expansion coefficient of the cured product at 30 to 200 C. is expressed as 1 [K.sup.1], at least one of requirements 1/210 and (12).sup.210.sup.80.4 is satisfied, where a reference value 2 is 35010.sup.6 [K.sup.1] or less. In the cured product, an absorbance derived from a siloxane bond, an absorbance derived from a hydrocarbon group, and an absorbance derived from a hydroxy group are respectively expressed as Ia, Ib, and Ic, the absorbances being determined by attenuated total reflection using a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer. In this case, requirements 0.09Ia/Ib3.0 and 0.04Ic/Ib1.0 are satisfied.

A lightweight laminate capable of maintaining mechanical properties while exhibiting excellent flame retardancy, a method for producing the laminate, and a prepreg are described, where the laminate includes fibers; a matrix resin; and a flame-retardant filler and satisfies 0.01<A/B<0.15 under the described conditions where A and B are as defined. The prepreg includes fibers; a matrix resin; and a flame-retardant filler and satisfies 0.01<A/B<0.15 under the described conditions where A and B are as defined.

An article for damping vibrations by constrained layer damping comprising: a first constraining layer; a second constraining layer; and a damping layer disposed between the first and second constraining layers, wherein the first and second constraining layers each independently comprise a fibre-reinforced composite material, wherein the first and second constraining layers each independently have a thickness from 1.5 to 5 mm, wherein the damping layer comprises a viscoelastic material, wherein the damping layer has a thickness from 1 to 10 mm and wherein the article has a thickness from 6 to 50 mm. The invention also relates to the use of said article for damping vibrations in a vehicle.

A surfacing product (e.g., flooring element) can be elongate along a longitudinal axis. The surfacing product can have a core having a first surface and an opposed second surface that are spaced along a thickness axis. A veneer can be coupled to the first surface of the core. The veneer can have a first veneer segment that is elongate along the longitudinal axis, a second veneer segment that is elongate along the longitudinal axis, and an insert segment positioned between the first veneer segment and the second veneer segment along the longitudinal axis.
