A glass laminate includes a non-glass substrate with a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. A glass sheet is laminated to the first surface of the non-glass substrate. A barrier film is laminated to the second surface of the non-glass substrate and includes a first surface adjacent to the non-glass substrate, a second surface opposite the first surface. A thickness of the barrier film can be at most about 0.5 mm. The second surface of the barrier film can define an outer surface of the glass laminate. The barrier film can be a multi-layer barrier film with a metal layer and a polymer layer. An absolute value of a flatness of the glass laminate determined according to European Standard EN 438 after exposure to 23 C. and 90% relative humidity for 7 days can be at most about 3 mm/m.

A dental appliance for positioning a patient's teeth includes a removable orthodontic tooth positioning appliance having teeth receiving cavities shaped to directly receive at least some of the patient's teeth and apply a resilient positioning force to the patient's teeth. The appliance includes a hard polymer layer having a hard polymer layer elastic modulus disposed between a first soft polymer layer having a first soft polymer layer elastic modulus and a second soft polymer layer having a second soft polymer layer elastic modulus. The hard polymer layer elastic modulus is greater than each of the first soft polymer layer elastic modulus and the second soft polymer layer elastic modulus. At least one of the first soft polymer layer and the second soft polymer layer has a flexural modulus of greater than about 35,000 psi.
Method for producing composite of CFRP with metal material and composite thereof
A CFRP material with an Al alloy sheet attached to or a CFRTP material with an Al alloy sheet attached to is prepared by joining an Al alloy sheet with a CFRP material or a CFRTP material by adhesion or by injection molding. The surface of this Al alloy sheet and a surface of metal material such as Ti, etc., are subjected to chemical treatment. After this chemical treatment, the CFRP material with an Al alloy sheet attached to or the CFRTP material with an Al alloy sheet attached to and the metal material are inserted into a metallic mold for injection molding so as to have a gap therebetween. High crystalline thermoplastic resin is injected into this gap to join the metal material with the Al alloy sheet, thus obtaining a laminated composite.

An artificial leather includes a resin layer as the surface and a base fabric connected to the resin layer as the substrate. The base fabric comprises at least two monolayer structures arranged in an orderly manner as two laminates. Each monolayer structure is woven with some of the warp yarns and/or weft yarns in such layer or with some of the warp yarns and/or weft yarns in one or more other layers to form a number of connecting points, such that at least two monolayer structures arranged in an orderly manner as two laminates are connected with each other in the weaving process, forming a multi-layer integrated base fabric. The artificial leather incorporates a number of air vent holes distributed in the resin layer and the base fabric in the direction of thickness while retaining mechanical properties of tensile strength and tear resistance.

The disclosure relates to polymer-containing composite materials and to unusually low-pressure consolidation methods for forming composite parts from such materials. More specifically, for example, the disclosure relates to use of a certain PEEK-PEDEK copolymer in low-pressure consolidation methods, using as little as 1 bar pressure (or using atmospheric pressure acting on a consolidation that is held under vacuum) to provide composite parts that are substantially void-free.

The aluminum-resin bonded body includes: an aluminum substrate formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy; an oxygen-containing film containing oxygen, the oxygen-containing film being formed on a surface of the aluminum substrate; and a resin molded body formed of a thermoplastic resin composition containing a thermoplastic resin and an additive, the resin molded body being bonded onto the oxygen-containing film, in which the thermoplastic resin composition contains any one or both of: a thermoplastic resin containing an element having an unshared electron pair in a repeat unit and/or at an end; and an additive containing an element having an unshared electron pair.

The invention relates to a copolymer having polyamide PA blocks and polyether PE blocks, in which PA is of diamine.diacid X.Y type; X, the number of carbons of the diamine, is within the range from 6 to 14, and Y, the number of carbons of the diacid, is within the range from 6 to 18. The invention also relates to the use of the said copolymer in a process of direct adhesion between two TPE materials for increasing the peel strength between these materials.
