The present invention relates to a security element for a security paper, a valuable article or the like having a substrate (1), the substrate being at least partially furnished with a coating (2) that is substantially tack free at room temperature, and the coating (2) including at least one radiation-crosslinkable component.
PRE-FRACTURED GLASS COMPOSITES AND LAMINATES WITH IMPACT RESISTANCE AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A pre-fractured glass laminate that includes: a glass substrate comprising a thickness, a pair of opposed primary surfaces, a compressive stress region, a central tension (CT) region and a plurality of cracks; a second phase comprising a polymer or a cured resin within the plurality of cracks; a backing layer; and an interlayer disposed between one of the primary surfaces of the substrate and the backing layer. The compressive stress region extends from each of the primary surfaces to a first selected depth in the substrate. Further, the plurality of cracks is located in the CT region.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH INSERT-MOLDED ATTACHMENT STEEL
A composite material with an insert-molded attachment steel is provided. The composite material includes a plurality of burring apertures, each of which has a flange in one direction on the attachment steel and is inserted between fibers. A resin is then introduced between the fibers in each burring aperture and external to the flange.
Resistive grid elements having a thermosetting polymer
A resistor grid system includes a resistor strip including multiple pins. The resistor grid system also includes an insulation board coupled to the resistor strip through the multiple pins and configured to provide a structural support. The insulation board is made of a composite material. The composite material includes a nitrogen-containing aromatic thermosetting polymeric resin and a filler.
MOLDED ARTICLE COMPRISING THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION
According to the present invention, provided are a molded article formed of a thermoplastic resin composition, the molded article having a mean deviation of surface frictional coefficient of 0.02 or more and 0.08 or less, a mean deviation of surface roughness of 4 μm or more and 12 μm or less, a work of compression of 0.05 gf.Math.cm/cm.sup.2 or more and 0.30 gf.Math.cm/cm.sup.2 or less, a bulk density of 0.20 g/cm.sup.3 or more and 0.70 g/cm.sup.3 or less, an area ratio of through-holes of less than 3%, and a thickness of 10 μm or more and 1000 μm or less, and a laminate having the molded article.
INTERNAL TENSIONING STRUCTURE USEABLE WITH INFLATABLE DEVICES
An internal tensioning structure for use in an inflatable product fulfills the basic function of maintaining two adjacent inflatable surfaces in a desired geometric arrangement when the inflatable product is pressurized. The tensioning structure is formed by connecting a pair of plastic strips sheets via spaced-apart strands, such as strings or wires. When pulled taut, the strands provide a high tensile strength between the two opposed plastic strips. At the same time, the plastic strips facilitate a strong, long-lasting weld between the tensioning structure and the inflatable product.
Disposable ice pack
This disclosure includes ice packs that comprise paper and absorbent material, and also includes various methods of making, adding liquid to, freezing, shipping, and/or using such ice packs. This disclosure also includes assemblies that include one or more such ice packs, such as, for example, a container of a plurality of such ice packs in dry, wet, and/or frozen states, or a container that includes an ice pack in a hydrated, frozen state and one or more perishable items.
Use of UV-radiation-hardenable polyurethane resins for producing solar laminates
The present invention relates to the use of a radiation-hardenable resin composition for producing solar laminates, a method for creating a solar laminate using the resin composition according to the invention, and a solar laminate that can be produced using this method.
Composite articles and methods of producing same
According to the invention there is provided a composite article including: a textile layer having a first and a second face, each of the first and second faces having a polymeric coating thereon; a first polymeric layer adhered to the polymeric coating on the first face of the textile layer; and a second polymeric layer adhered to the polymeric coating on the second face of the textile layer; in which the polymeric coatings on the first and second faces of the textile layer are each formed by polymerizing a polymeric precursor which includes a group of sub-formula (I) where R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from (CR.sup.7R.sup.8)n, or a group CR.sup.9R.sup.10, CR.sup.7R.sup.8CR.sup.9R.sup.10 or CR.sup.9R.sup.10CR.sup.7R.sup.8 where n is 0, 1 or 2, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 are independently selected from hydrogen, halo or hydrocarbyl, and either One of R.sup.9 or R.sup.10 is hydrogen and the other is an electron withdrawing group, or R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 together form an electron withdrawing group, and R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are independently selected from CH or CR.sup.11 where R.sup.11 is an electron withdrawing group, the dotted lines indicate the presence or absence of a bond, X.sup.1 is a group CX.sup.2X.sup.3 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is absent and a group CX.sup.2 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is present, Y.sup.1 is a group CY.sup.2Y.sup.3 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is absent and a group CY.sup.2 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is present, and X.sup.2, X.sup.3, Y.sup.2 and Y.sup.3 are independently selected from hydrogen, fluorine or other substituents, R.sup.1 is selected from hydrogen, halo, nitro, hydrocarbyl, optionally substituted or interposed with functional groups, or formula (II), and R.sup.13 is C(0) or S(0).sub.2.
