Absorbent structures with high absorbency and low basis weight
Absorbent product including a laminate of at least two plies, wherein the absorbent product has a measured Valley Volume parameter greater than 11 microns and a Pit Density of greater than 25 pockets per sq. cm.
Textured fibrous structures
Textured fibrous structures, and more particularly textured fibrous structures having a plurality of deformations such that the textures fibrous structures exhibit novel surface height properties compared to known fibrous structures, and methods for making such textured fibrous structures.
Multilayer cleaning article with gripping layer and dry surface contact layer
The present invention teaches multilayer cleaning articles that include a substantially dry surface contact layer and a gripping layer. The contact layer may represent one exposed major face of the cleaning article (e.g., a cleaning pad), while the gripping layer may represent the opposite exposed major face of the cleaning article. The contact layer may include abrasive synthetic fibers, so as to be effective in scrubbing soils and spills from a surface. The contact layer includes a cleaning composition pre-loaded therein. The cleaning composition is such that the contact layer feels dry to the touch prior to use, before wetting with water. The cleaning composition may include about 1% to about 40% by weight water. The gripping layer includes at least 40% by weight of pulp fibers (e.g., natural cellulose pulp fiber), and exhibits a mean hand grip value that is at least 0.015 1/in.sup.2 (reciprocal inches squared).
Garment-facing laminates and methods for making the same
An absorbent article including a liquid permeable topsheet on a wearer-facing side of the absorbent article and a garment-facing laminate on a garment-facing side of the absorbent article is disclosed. The garment-facing laminate includes a backsheet film and a nonwoven layer joined to the backsheet film. The nonwoven layer defines a plurality of apertures. At least 3 of the plurality of apertures in a repeat unit have a different Effective Aperture Area, according to the Aperture Test herein, a different shape, and a different Absolute Feret Angle, according to the Aperture Test herein. The absorbent article includes an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate the liquid permeable topsheet and the garment-facing laminate.
Nonwoven cellulose fiber fabric with homogeneously merged fibers
A nonwoven cellulose fiber fabric, in particular directly manufactured from lyocell spinning solution, wherein the fabric comprises a network of substantially endless fibers, and wherein the fibers are homogeneously merged substantially over the entire fabric.
Foldable multi-purpose nonwoven hand pad and method of use
A nonwoven hand pad includes a substrate having first and second opposed major surfaces wherein the first major surface includes a first functional region configured for a first cleaning operation, and the second major surface includes at least two functional regions configured for second and third cleaning operations. A method of cleaning using such a pad is also disclosed.
Methods for using an integrated scraper-sponge
Methods of using an integrated scraper-sponge having a scraper layer with and edge and fixed between the first and second sponge and/or abrasive layers. The scraper sponge is wetted and applied to a surface that is contaminated. The scraper-sponge is moved about the contaminated surface or dabbed onto the surface. The wet sponge portion loosens residue while the scraper edge scrapes residue from the surface as the scraper is moved about the contaminated surface.
DUAL-SIDED CLEANING SUBSTRATE FOR MEDIA TRANSPORT DEVICE
This document describes cleaning cards for cleaning the interior of media transport devices, methods of manufacturing such cleaning cards, and methods of using such cleaning cards. The cards include a first layer of a substrate having a cleaning sublayer and a base sublayer, along with a second layer having a cleaning sublayer and a base sublayer. The base sublayers are positioned against each other at a plurality of contact areas. A plurality of pockets within which the base sublayers do not contact each other are positioned between the base sublayers so that each pocket forms a raised cleaning element in each of the cleaning sublayers. Each of the pockets is bounded by one or more of the contact areas.
Absorbent Product with Improved Capillary Pressure and Saturation Capacity
A process for forming multi-layer fibrous web with good absorbent capacity and absorbent rate is disclosed. The multi-layer fibrous web can be used as absorbent articles, including wiping products, such as industrial wipers, food service wipers, and the like. The multi-layer fibrous web includes a first layer and a second layer, as well as a crossover zone, that has a capillary pressure between the capillary pressure of the first layer and the capillary pressure of the second layer.
Uniaxially-oriented polymeric films, and articles made therefrom
A uniaxially-oriented ethylene-based polymeric film having at least one layer comprising at least 65 wt. %, based on total amount of materials present in the at least one layer, of a linear low density polyethylene which exhibits each of the following properties: a CDBI of at least 60%; a melt index, I2, measured according to ASTM D 1238 (2.16 kg @190° C.), of 1.8 g/10 min to 10 g/10 min; a density of from 0.910 g/cc to 0.940 g/cc; and a Mw/Mn of less than 3.0.
