Biaxially oriented polyester film for metal lamination

The invention relates to a multilayer biaxially oriented polyester film comprising a base layer B, an amorphous outer layer A and a further outer layer C, where this polyester film is suitable for lamination with metal sheets. The invention in particular relates to a polyester film which comprises (based on the mass of polyester) from 2 to 15% by weight of isophthalate-derived units in the base layer and which comprises more than 19% by weight of isophthalate-derived units in the amorphous layer A, and which has a silane-based coating on the outer layer A. The invention further relates to a process for the production of these films.

PROCESS FOR REGENERATING A MONOLITHIC, MACRO-STRUCTURAL, INTER-PENETRATING ELASTOMER NETWORK MORPHOLOGY FROM GROUND TIRE RUBBER PARTICLES

Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.

Sheet-like composite, especially packaging laminate for dimensionally stable food-stuff containers, having a polymeric internal layer characterized by differential scanning calorimetry

The invention relates to a sheet-like composite including as layers of a layer sequence, in a direction from an external side of the sheet-like composite to an internal side of the sheet-like composite, a) a carrier layer, b) a barrier layer, and c) a polymeric internal layer, where a graph of a differential scanning calorimetry of the polymeric internal layer includes a peak A at a temperature T.sub.A and a peak B at a temperature T.sub.B, where the temperature T.sub.B is more than the temperature T.sub.A, where a width of the peak B is less by at least 3° C. than a width of the peak A. The invention further relates to a container precursor and to a closed container including the sheet-like composite, and also to a process by which the sheet-like composite is obtainable, and to a use of the sheet-like composite.

RECYCLABLE FILM FOR THERMOFORMING

Recyclable films having a first layer containing a polyethylene, a second layer containing a high-density polyethylene and a hydrocarbon resin, and a third layer containing a polyethylene may be used for thermoforming packaging components. Both the first and third layers have an overall density between about 0.92 g/cm.sub.3 and 0.97 g/cm.sub.3. The film structure is advantageous as it can be more easily thermoformed than traditional high-density polyethylene films and can maintain the shape taken during thermoforming, exhibiting minimal warping or shrinking.

Tabbed seal with oversized tab

Various enhancements of tabbed seals are provided herein with enhanced grasping functionality. Such enhancements include an oversized tab structure for increasing the overall surface area of the tab. In some forms, the tab has been configured such that the overall gripping tab is larger, but a portion thereof is temporarily adhered to the lower laminate, such as during seal and/or cap installation. Instead, the gripping tab includes a small free portion and then a second, temporarily bonded portion that can either release or rupture, permitting the overall grippable portion of the tab to be large.
