ROTOMOLDED REINFORCED CONCRETE METER BOX LID AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A rotomolded lid for a meter box and a method of making the same are provided. The lid is formed in a rotomold process that embeds a pair of rebars within a hollow lid product. Concrete is then poured into the hollow portion and allowed to cure. The end result is a reinforced meter box lid that is configured to handle loads of up to 16,000 lbs. In addition, the presence of the rebars, which are ferromagnetic, allows a metal detector to detect the presence of the lid should it ever be inadvertently covered over or otherwise obscured from view. Furthermore, the central lid portion may also include a passageway covered by a hinged door to permit access to the meter box without having to lift up the lid itself. Another passageway, along with an associated countersunk portion in an upper lid surface, permits a wireless transponder to be positioned therein and connected to meter equipment in the box.
Closed container, in particular a foodstuff container, having a shaping coefficient
The invention relates to a closed container, delimiting an interior from an exterior, wherein the closed container comprises a sheetlike composite; wherein the sheetlike composite comprises a layer sequence, comprising as mutually superposed layers in a direction from an. inner face of the sheetlike composite to an outer face of the sheetlike composite a) an inner polymer layer, b) a barrier layer, and c) a carrier layer; wherein the closed container is characterised by a shaping coefficient, determined according to the method described herein, in the range from 1.0 to 10.0 m.sup.2/kg. Further, the invention relates to a method by which a closed container with a shaping coefficient is obtainable; to the closed container obtainable by this method; to an apparatus, designed for producing one of the afore mentioned closed containers; to a use of a sheetlike composite for producing one of the afore mentioned closed containers; and to a use of one of the aforementioned closed containers for storing a foodstuff.
Vehicle sandwich component and method for producing a vehicle sandwich component
A vehicle sandwich component with a layered construction having a honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure may have a first lower honeycomb layer and a second upper honeycomb layer, the first lower honeycomb layer has at least one edge portion protruding laterally in the transverse direction beyond the second upper honeycomb layer, and a central honeycomb layer region or compression region which has a reduced thickness, achieved by compression, in relation to the edge portion and on which the second upper honeycomb layer is provided. Also, method for producing a vehicle-sandwich component of this type.
Container precursor with shaping coefficient, especially for a single dimensionally stable food or drink product container
The invention relates to a container precursor comprising a sheetlike composite, wherein the sheetlike composite a) comprises a layer sequence comprising, as mutually superposed layers, from an inner face of the sheetlike composite to an outer face of the sheetlike composite, i) an inner polymer layer, ii) a barrier layer, and iii) a carrier layer; b) comprises a first longitudinal edge and a further longitudinal edge, wherein the first longitudinal edge is bonded to the further longitudinal edge forming a longitudinal seam of the container precursor; c) comprises, in the following sequence in the direction from the first longitudinal edge to the further longitudinal edge i) a first longitudinal groove, ii) a second longitudinal groove, iii) a third longitudinal groove, and iv) a fourth longitudinal groove, wherein the container precursor can be shaped to form a jacket structure by folding along the first longitudinal groove, the second longitudinal groove, the third longitudinal groove and the fourth longitudinal groove; wherein the container precursor is characterized by a shaping coefficient as per the test method described herein within a range from 8 to 30 m2/g. The invention further relates to a closed container, to a method, to an apparatus and to the use of the container precursor.
RECYCLABLE FILM AND PACKAGING
A recyclable film contains a base film and a sealant. The base film has at least one layer containing a polar polymer and at least one layer containing a polar polymer compatibilizer. Additionally the base film has been oriented and annealed such that it exhibits free shrink of less than 10% in both the machine direction and the transverse direction when, exposed to heat of 90 C. This film has advantages over prior recyclable films in efficient film manufacturing, high quality package production and superior package performance.
PROCESS FOR REGENERATING A MONOLITHIC, MACRO-STRUCTURAL, INTER-PENETRATING ELASTOMER NETWORK MORPHOLOGY FROM GROUND TIRE RUBBER PARTICLES
Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.
CAP LINER COMPRISING A SINTERED FLUOROPOLYMER LAYER
In an aspect, a cap liner comprises a sintered fluoropolymer layer; and a backing layer; wherein the sintered fluoropolymer layer is in direct physical contact with the backing layer with no intervening layer located there between. In another aspect, a method of forming the cap liner of comprises plasma etching the sintered fluoropolymer layer to form a sintered plasma etched layer; and laminating the sintered plasma etched layer and the backing layer to form the cap liner.
ANTIFOG POLYESTER LIDDING FILM FOR CPET TRAYS
The present disclosure is directed to peelable, heat-sealable lidding films for containers of diverse polymer compositions storing various products such as foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals. The lidding films disclosed herein can be heat-sealed to crystalline polyester trays (CPET), easily peeled, and contain improved antifogging performance by incorporating a non-migratory antifogging additive into the heat sealable layer of the film without deteriorating seal strengths.
