FLEXIBLE HEAT BARRIER AND FIRE SHELTER FOR WILDLAND FIREFIGHTERS MADE THEREFROM
A flexible heat barrier is configured to absorb and deflect heat energy and utilizes a multilayer construction wherein each layer provides a specific purpose. An outer layer configured for exposure to a heat flux includes a coating having an intumescent component and an opacifier component. An inner layer includes a foil that may include a high emittance coating to more effectively reflect radiation. A middle layer includes an insulating fabric layer that may include oriented fibers that can effectively polarize radiation and may include a plurality of layers of oriented fibers that are configured at an offset angle to deflect and reduce radiation transmission through the middle layer. A flexible heat barrier may also include a flexible gas barrier that includes a phase change material, such as frits that melt at a predetermined temperature and flow into gaps to reduce the permeability and further block heat flux.
COMPONENT MADE OF THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE TIE LAYER BASED ON AT LEAST ONE AMORPHOUS THERMOPLASTIC RESIN
A component including a body having a first surface and a matrix made of semicrystalline thermoplastic resin, a coating at least partially covering the first surface and a lightning protection layer having a matrix, positioned against the surface, between the body and the coating. The matrix of the lightning protection layer is based on at least one amorphous thermoplastic resin.
Crash pad for vehicle and manufacturing method thereof
The present disclosure relates to a crash pad for a vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof. In an embodiment, the crash pad for a vehicle includes: a skin layer configured to form an outer surface of a crash pad including an airbag module; a core layer formed on a lower surface of the skin layer; and a foam layer formed between the core layer and the skin layer, wherein the skin layer has a tensile strength of 15 to 120 kgf/cm.sup.2 and an elongation at break of 50 to 700% measured in accordance with JIS K6301 standard, and a bonding strength of 0.25 kgf/cm or more as measured in accordance with ISO 813 standard.
Stretchable multilayer article
A multilayer article comprising at least a first layer of a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) resin composition, a second layer of a TPU resin composition and a core layer between the first layer and the second layer, the core layer comprising a barrier resin composition, wherein the barrier resin composition comprises an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) (A), a hydroxyl group containing compound (B) having a molecular weight of 200 or less, a ratio of a number of hydroxyl groups in one molecule relative to the molecular weight within a range of form 0.02 to 0.03, and a melting point of from about 23° C. to about 200° C., and a fatty acid metal salt (C), the multilayer article having good elasticity, stretchability and barrier properties suitable for use in chemical suits and gloves.
ANTI-PROPYLENE MASK AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION THEREOF
An anti-propylene mask and method for preparation thereof is provided; the anti-propylene mask includes a fiber cloth contact layer, an antistatic non-woven fabric layer and a fullerene/nano titanium dioxide spunbond layer which are arranged in sequence; the fullerene/nano titanium dioxide spunbond layer is made by spun-bonding the modified resin material into a fiber web; the raw materials of modified resin materials include matrix resin, carboxylated fullerene derivatives, nano titanium dioxide, a lubricant, and a coupling agent; the modified resin material is prepared by following method: the carboxylated fullerene derivative is mixed and reacted with the nano titanium dioxide to prepare the carboxylated fullerene derivative-modified nano titanium dioxide, which is then blended and extruded with the remaining components in the raw material, and thus prepared. The mask can prevent propylene from entering the human body through the human respiratory organs and has a good anti-propylene effect.

The ultraviolet hard coat film may include a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer, an adhesive interposed between the PET layer and the polycarbonate substrate, and an exterior hard coat disposed on the PET layer opposite the polycarbonate substrate. The exterior hard coat may include UV stabilizers. The laminate may include additional ultraviolet hard coat films stacked on the ultraviolet hard coat film. The laminate may be thermoformed into the shape of a curved vehicle windshield.
Method for applying a polymeric film to a substrate and resulting articles
A polymeric film assembly comprising a first solidified interlayer on a polymeric film or laminate comprising the same that is contacted with at least a portion of a surface of an underlying article to provide, for example, desired surface characteristics. At least a portion of the first solidified interlayer becomes a softened interlayer positioned between the polymeric film and the surface of the article when contacted as such. The softened interlayer is then converted to a second solidified interlayer, which second solidified interlayer may be in a different form than or same form as the first solidified interlayer initially provided, for adherence of the polymeric film to at least the portion of the surface of the article. Ease of removal and/or repair of polymeric film and laminates comprising the polymeric film that are so applied is facilitated.
