Siloxane tackifying resin layers as adhesion promotion agents
Layers of siloxane tackifying resins that do not contain siloxane fluids, gums or polymers act as adhesion promotion agents. Articles include a substrate layer, a non-tacky siloxane tackifying resin adhesion promotion layer disposed on the surface of the substrate layer, and a crosslinked siloxane layer in contact with the adhesion promotion layer. The crosslinked siloxane layer is not an adhesive layer. The adhesion of the crosslinked siloxane layer to the substrate is greater than the adhesion without the non-tacky siloxane tackifying adhesion promotion layer.
Curable polysiloxane compositions and slippery materials and coatings and articles made therefrom
The present teachings generally provide curable polysiloxane compositions including a base resin including a surface active polymer. Articles of manufacture including the curable polysiloxane compositions and slippery coatings and materials also are provided. The compositions may be used to provide slippery, lubricious, or repellent materials and coatings and may provide anti-fouling function. The compositions can provide anti-fouling or foul-release function on open surfaces, internal surfaces, membranes; to provide pinning free or low contact angle hysteresis surfaces; to provide homogeneous interface to suppress nucleation; to provide a barrier layer such as anti-corrosion; to provide anti-stain, anti-smudge, anti-fingerprint, anti-soil function.
Tube
A tube includes a corrugated metal tubular member; and a first covering part that covers the outside of the tubular member, and forms a braided structure using a resin string member of which at least a part is covered by a metal having lower electrical resistance than that of a metal forming the tubular member. The tube can also include a third covering part made of an insulating resin arranged between the tubular member and the first covering part, and covers the tubular member, wherein the first covering part covers the third covering part.
Ethylene/CO interpolymers and processes to make the same
A composition comprising an ethylene/CO interpolymer, formed from a high pressure, free-radical polymerization, and wherein the ethylene/CO interpolymer has the following properties: a) a CO content from “greater than 0” weight percent to less than, or equal to, 10 weight percent CO (carbon monoxide), based on the weight of the interpolymer; and b) a melting point, Tm, in ° C. that meets the following relationship: Tm (° C.)≤601.4*(Density in g/cc)−452.5(° C.).
Multi-component plastic housing
A multi-component housing having a length and comprising at least a first component comprising a first plastic material, a second component comprising a second plastic material, and a third component comprising a third plastic material. The housing includes at least one tolerance-elimination element made of the second plastic material and longitudinally attached to the first component along the housing's longitudinal axis. The tolerance-elimination element has an average length extending parallel to the housing's longitudinal axis, which average length is at least ten times less than the length of the housing. The third component at least partially forms an outer surface of the housing, so that the tolerance-elimination element is at least partially overmolded by the third plastic material.
Zero flow fireproof hose utilizing zinc borate and expandable graphite additives
A hose is provided capable of meeting fireproof requirements per AS1055 under no flow condition. The hose has multiple layers of fire protection comprising a silicone rubber layer impregnated with additives including zinc borate and expandable graphite.
SHAFT FOR ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES
The present disclosure relates to a shaft for athletic activities comprising, along at least a part of the length of the shaft: an internal wall (31) made of a first fiber-reinforced composite; and an external wall (30), fixed to the internal wall, and made of a second fiber-reinforced composite, wherein one or more cavities (32A, 32B, 32C) are present between the internal wall and the external wall.
BARRIER LAYERS
The invention relates to the use of special polymer layers as barriers, in particular as barrier layers in composite materials. Suitable polymers for the polymer layer are copolymers consisting of ethylene and vinyl alcohol or consisting of ethylene and carbon monoxide or consisting of ethylene and carbon monoxide and propylene. These barrier layers exhibit a selective barrier effect with respect to different gases, the barrier effect being especially effective with respect to HFOs. On account of these properties, such barrier layers can positively affect insulating properties, for example in thermally insulated pipes.
Thermoplastic composite
A method of making a flexible pipe layer, which method comprises: commingling polymer filaments and carbon fibre filaments to form an intimate mixture, forming yarns of the commingled filaments, forming the yarns into a tape, and applying the tape to a pipe body to form a flexible pipe layer.
Multilayer tubes
A multilayer tube is provided which includes a layer including a specific aliphatic polyamide composition and a layer including a semi-aromatic polyamide composition including a semi-aromatic polyamide with a specific structure, these layers being adjacent to each other, wherein the aliphatic polyamide composition includes an aliphatic polyamide having a specific ratio of the number of methylene groups to the number of amide groups, a polyamide having a specific difference in absolute value of solubility parameter SP from the aliphatic polyamide, and an elastomer polymer including a structural unit derived from an unsaturated compound having a carboxyl group and/or an acid anhydride group.
