Semi-finished product for a cable guide system of a wind turbine component, wind turbine component, wind turbine rotor blade and methods
The invention relates to a semi-finished product (134) for a cable guide system in a wind turbine component having a layer-like structure (135) with a carrier tape (136), a plurality of cable fastening elements (138) which are fixed in place distributed along the length (L) of the carrier tape (136), and a top layer (142) with a plurality of cutouts or incisions (144), wherein the cable fastening elements (138) are arranged between the top layer (142) and carrier tape (136) in such a way that each cable fastening element (138) at least in part projects out from the top layer (142) from a corresponding cutout or incision (144). The invention also relates to a wind turbine component, a wind turbine a wind turbine rotor blade and methods.
Casing having a non-axisymmetric composite wall
Walls of gas turbine engine casings, fan cases, and methods for forming walls, e.g., fan case walls, are provided. For example, a wall comprises a plurality of composite plies arranged in a ply layup. The wall is annular and circumferentially segmented into a plurality of regions that include at least one first region and at least one second region. The ply layup in the first and second regions is different such that the ply layup is non-axisymmetric. An exemplary fan case comprises an annular inner shell, a filler layer, an annular back sheet, and an annular outer layer. The back sheet is circumferentially segmented into a plurality of regions, including at least one first region and at least one second region, and comprises a plurality of composite plies arranged in a ply layup that is different in the first and second regions such that the ply layup is non-axisymmetric.
Damping coating with a constraint layer
A coating is applied to a base material. The coating comprises a viscoelastic layer having a surface in which cavities are formed; and a constraint layer. The viscoelastic layer is disposed on the base material, and the constraint layer is disposed on, and partially bonded, at an interface, to the viscoelastic layer over the surface in which the cavities are formed. The cavities are filled with particles configured for vibration and frictional interaction at the partially bonded interface between the partially bonded viscoelastic layer and the constraint layer. A turbine blade having an airfoil with the subject coating is also provided.
Fiber-reinforced composite, a component and a method
A fiber reinforced composite, a component for a wind turbine and a method for manufacturing a component for a wind turbine are provided. The fiber reinforced composite includes a plurality of first fibers, the first fibers being arranged in a unidirectional or biax-configuration, a plurality of second fibers, the second fibers being arranged perpendicularly with respect to a lengthwise direction of the first fibers, and a resin impregnating the first and second fibers, wherein a E-modulus of the resin equals an E-modulus of the second fibers. Since the E-modulus of the resin and the E-modulus of the second fibers are equal, an early initiation of fatigue cracks is avoided.
Process of fabricating a shield and process of preparing a component
A process of fabricating a shield, a process of preparing a component, and an erosion shield are disclosed. The process of fabricating the shield includes forming a near-net shape shield. The near-net shape shield includes a nickel-based layer and an erosion-resistant alloy layer. The nickel-based layer is configured to facilitate secure attachment of the near-net shaped to a component. The process of preparing the component includes securing a near-net shape shield to a substrate of a component.
Discretizer and Method of Using Same
Discretizers that exhibit improved solid additive laden fluid flow emanating from the discretizers and methods of using same, particularly for making fibrous structures are provided.
Airfoil Conformable Membrane Erosion Coating
A coating membrane for a component of a gas-turbine engine includes a solid membrane having a metallic foil or a polymeric film, and having a thickness and at least one kerf extending through the thickness to define a kerf pattern such that the solid membrane can be applied to a compound-curved surface. Also disclosed are a coated component coated with the membrane, and a method for producing a coated component with the membrane.
Laminate and method for producing same
Disclosed are a method for producing a laminate including a step of laminating a resin impregnated fiber reinforced composition layer on a metal member, wherein the method includes a step of forming a resin coating on the metal member and a step of laminating a resin impregnated fiber reinforced composition layer containing a resin impregnated fiber reinforced composition containing (I) 20 to 80% by mass of a polymer having a melting point and/or a glass transition temperature of 50 to 300° C., and (C) 20 to 80% by mass of a reinforcing fiber
(provided that the sum of the component (I) and the component (C) is taken as 100% by mass) via the above resin coating; and a laminate obtained by the method.
Composite cores and panels
The plurality of pieces of low density cellular material, such as foam plastics, form a core panel having opposite side surfaces and with adjacent pieces having opposing edge surfaces extending between the side surfaces. Sheets of flexible material, such as veils or mats or scrim, are adhesively attached to the side surfaces, and portions of one sheet extend between the opposing adjacent edge surfaces for limiting flexing of the panel. The pieces may be tapered, and portions of the one sheet may project between the edge surfaces either partially or fully to form double wall webs. The webs may have flanges adhesively attached to the other sheet on the opposite side. One sheet may also be stretchable in areas not adhesively attached to the pieces to provide for curving the panel from a planar position maintained by the sheet on the opposite side.
LOAD-BEARING COMPOSITE PANELS, MATERIALS, PRODUCTS, AND PROCESSES TO MAKE AND USE SAME
Load-bearing composite panels, materials, and products made by surrounding with a long fiber and/or fiber cloth reinforced polyurethane resin, an assembly containing one or more load-bearing members, graphene, a structural polyurethane/resin sandwich composite and/or spider silk protein fiber-cloth-continuous fibers. The composite structures can provide stronger, lighter-weight structural items such as vehicle floor and body panels, bullet-proof anti-ballistic panel products, vehicle bullet-proof anti-ballistic body panel structures and floors, bullet-proof vests, vehicle chassis, monocoque chassis, motor homes chassis-bodies, fuselage floors and frames for aircraft and/or UAV's, bicycle and motorcycle frames, wind turbine blades frames and structures, ship or boat haul body structures, shipment containers, pre-fabricated walls of buildings, train structure body or floor panels, solar panel supports, battery housings, mobile home walls, roof modules, truck beds, and truck trailer floors. Such composite panels, materials, and products can also be utilized in artificial organs, ligaments or tendons, artificial disc vertebrae, ropes, and 3D printing parts.
