Method of producing an optical device and a corresponding system
A method of producing an optical device from a volume of a curable composition, includes the following steps: —polymerizing a first portion of the volume by irradiating an external surface of the volume with a light irradiation, thereby increasing a transmittance of the first portion for the light irradiation; —polymerizing a second portion of the volume by irradiating the second portion with the light irradiation through the external surface and the polymerized first portion, wherein the light irradiation has a light intensity varying over the external surface between a first light intensity and a second light intensity distinct from the second light intensity. A corresponding system is also described.

MAGNESIUM ALLOY
Magnesium alloys and a process of manufacturing an article using magnesium alloys. During additive manufacturing, where the magnesium alloy is being deposited in a layer-by-layer manner, solidification of the melted portion of a deposited layer is performed in such a way as to ensure that about 15 percent or more of the portion being solidified includes a non-equilibrium eutectic constituent. This in turn reduces the likelihood of encountering solidification conditions that otherwise would lead to hot tearing problems. Further, upon subsequent heat treatment of the solidified layer, the eutectic constituents that were used for hot tearing resistance are dissolved so that the solidified layer may be returned to a substantially single-phase magnesium matrix such that desirable material properties such as improved flammability point, improved corrosion resistance and one or more of high yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation are promoted.
Extrudable building material wall structure and method
A wall structure and a method for forming a wall structure is provided using three-dimensional printing of extruded building material applied to a surface of a building structure. According to one embodiment, the wall structure includes a pair of outer wythes spaced from an inner wythe. The outer wythes can include a core extending between the pair of outer wythes and toward the inner wythe. A protrusion can also extend toward the inner wythe a spaced distance from the inner wythe or entirely toward and adjoining the inner wythe. The core is configured with an inwardly facing spaced opposed surfaces of the outer wythes surrounding a vertically extending rebar, with grout surrounding that rebar. Horizontally extending support pins can be spaced parallel from each other and extend from the protrusions and into the inner wythe.
METHOD FOR FABRICATING COLLAGEN BIO-INK, COLLAGEN BIO-INK AND 3D BIO-PRINTING METHOD
A method for fabricating a collagen bio-ink includes steps as follows. A first component is provided, wherein the first component is to fill a collagen powder to a first syringe. A second component is provided, wherein the second component is to fill a neutral solution or an acid solution to a second syringe. A mixing step is performed, wherein the first syringe is connected to the second syringe with a Lure lock connector and pushing back and forth to mix the first component and the second component to form a hydrogel and become a collagen bio-ink.
