Fruit and Vegetable-Based Fermentate Compositions and Methods of Making and Using the Same
A method for producing a fermentate including the steps of obtaining a fruit or vegetable extract, treating the extract with a hydrolytic enzyme, mixing the extract with a fermenting microorganism, water, and a growth media to produce a liquid composition; and incubating the liquid composition at a controlled temperature and a controlled pH to produce a fermentate. A method for killing or inhibiting the growth of a contaminating microorganism on or within a food product, and a food product including a fermentate having a cellular mass component from a fermenting microorganism, a fermented fruit or vegetable extract and a hydrolytic enzyme are disclosed. A fermentate produced by any one of the methods described is contemplated. The fermentate may be a concentrated liquid or a dry powder and has the ability to inhibit the growth of a contaminating microorganism by 100% when diluted to less than 5% (w/v).
Bifunctional plant promoter and preparation thereof
A bifunctional plant growth promoter and methods of preparing the plant growth promoter. The plant growth promoter comprises nano carbon black modified with carboxyl groups referred to as “carbon black acid”. The nano carbon black has a structure forming a first functional part of the plant growth promoter and the carboxyl groups form a second functional part of the plant growth promoter. The plant growth promoter has an average particle size in a size range of 5 nm to 200 nm and a mass fraction of carboxyl groups in a mass fraction range of 5% to 25%.

AN INSECTICIDAL COMPOSITION BASED ON SAPONIFIED TALL OIL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
Described is a saponified tall oil that can be used as an insecticide. Also described is an insecticide that contains a saponified tall oil. Also described is to a method for producing a composition or an insecticide containing the saponified tall oil. The method includes: providing a heated basic solution of water and lye; and performing saponification by adding tall oil to the heated basic solution during mixing, to form a saponified solution.
MODULATION OF PLANT BIOLOGY
A method of effecting at least one biological process in a plant is disclosed. The method comprises contacting a part of a seed, a plant, or the locus thereof with a mixture comprising an agriculturally acceptable mixture of (i) complex polymeric polyhydroxy acids and (ii) a phytotoxic amount of one or more alkali (earth) salts and/or a synergistic amount of at least one source of an agriculturally acceptable transition metal ions.

Methods of and system for generating antimicrobial wipes
Exemplary methods of and system for generating an antimicrobial wipe to clean and disinfect a surface contaminated with bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the method includes applying non-thermal plasma to a moistened wipe to activate a liquid in the wipe. In some embodiments, the method includes applying non-thermal plasma to a liquid and then applying the activated liquid to a wipe. In one embodiment of a system for generating an antimicrobial wipe the system includes a housing having an opening; a supply of wipes disposed within the housing; a non-thermal plasma generator disposed within the housing; a power supply electrically coupled to the non-thermal plasma generator; and a feed system disposed within the housing, wherein the feed system moves one or more wipes from the supply of wipes past the plasma generator and out of the opening. As the feed system moves the wipes past the plasma generator, the plasma generator applies non-thermal plasma to the wipes.
