BACTERIA ENGINEERED TO TREAT DISEASES THAT BENEFIT FROM REDUCED GUT INFLAMMATION AND/OR TIGHTENED GUT MUCOSAL BARRIER

Genetically engineered bacteria, pharmaceutical compositions thereof, and methods of treating or preventing autoimmune disorders, inhibiting inflammatory mechanisms in the gut, and/or tightening gut mucosal barrier function are disclosed.

Mite Composition, Carrier, Method for Rearing Mites and Uses Related Thereto

The present invention in general relates to the field of rearing of commercially relevant mites. More particularly the present invention relates to a mite composition, suitable for the commercial rearing of mites, a method for rearing mites and a rearing device using the composition of the invention, a method for crop protection using the composition according to the invention wherein the mite is selected as a predatory mite, and the use of a carrier material for rearing a mite species.

Composition comprising arthropods and astigmatid mite eggs

The present invention relates to a biological control composition comprising at least arthropod biological control agents and astigmatid mite eggs. The invention also relates to the use of astigmatid mite eggs as a nutrient source for arthropod biological control agents. The invention also relates to a biological control composition comprising at least one population of arthropod biological control agents, a nutrient source comprising astigmatid mite eggs, and optionally, a support and/or dissemination substrate. Finally, the present invention further relates to a method for rearing arthropods from astigmatid mite eggs as a nutrient source.

Compositions and methods to control insect pests

Methods and compositions are provided which employ a silencing element that, when ingested by a pest, such as a Coleopteran plant pest or a Diabrotica plant pest, decrease the expression of a target sequence in the pest. In specific embodiments, the decrease in expression of the target sequence controls the pest and thereby the methods and compositions are capable of limiting damage to a plant. The present invention provides various target polynucleotides set forth in any one of SEQ ID NOS: 1-236 or active variants and fragments thereof, wherein a decrease in expression of one or more the sequences in the target pest controls the pest (i.e., has insecticidal activity). Further provided are silencing elements which when ingested by the pest decrease the level of the target polypeptide and thereby control the pest. In specific embodiment, the pest is D. virgifera virgifera, D. barberi, D. speciosa, or D. undecimpunctata howardi. Plants, plant part, bacteria and other host cells comprising the silencing elements or an active variant or fragment thereof of the invention are also provided.
