Mummified Mealy Bug Product and Method
20200113187 · 2020-04-16 · ·

A Biological Control Agent (BCA) system comprising processed parasitized mealybug mummies is disclosed. The processed and modified parasitized mealybug mummies are essentially devoid of their limbs and waxy covering. In the novel BCA system the modified parasitized mealybug mummies are processed in a manner that strips off their waxy covering and detaches their limbs without impacting on their viability as a host for parasitoid pupae. The modified parasitized mealybug mummies of the BCA system are encased in specially adapted packaging for delivering and distributing the modified parasitized mealybug mummies to plants with mealybug infestations. A method of preparing and storing the modified parasitized mealybug mummies as a BCA is also presented.

Chromobacterium species with insecticidal activity

Strains of Chromobacterium sphagni sp. nov. are described which have insecticidal activity against insect larvae, in general, and lepidopteran insect larvae, in particular. A biocontrol agent containing one or more C. sphagni, media in which the C. sphagni, or both, and optionally a carrier are also described. Methods of killing insect larvae and methods of reducing insect populations in an area by applying to the area or an object an effective amount of the biocontrol agent are also described.

Materials and methods for improving immune responses and skin and/or mucosal barrier functions

The subject invention provides compositions and methods for treating human dermatological conditions by employing a microbiome-centered treatment approach. Preferred embodiments of the invention provide pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions, and the methods of using the same, comprising a strain of Lactobacillus fermentum bacterium, or bioactive extracts thereof, derived from human microbiota and capable of growing in biofilm phenotype.

Extracts of edible fungi enriched in vitamin D and compostions thereof and their use in the treatment of immune-related disorders

A vitamin D2-enriched biomass of an edible fungus, extracts and compositions thereof are provided, for use in delaying onset of, treating, ameliorating or protecting from an immune-related or inflammatory related disease, disorder or condition, wherein the level of vitamin D2 in said biomass is at least 80 IU/gr.

FUSION PROTEINS AND METHODS FOR STIMULATING PLANT GROWTH, PROTECTING PLANTS, AND IMMOBILIZING BACILLUS SPORES ON PLANTS
