PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a transport unit that transports clothing fabric at which a pattern is formed, an imaging unit that images the clothing fabric transported by the transport unit, a printing unit that performs printing on the clothing fabric transported by the transport unit, and a control unit, the control unit registers first image data representing the pattern in a predetermined storage unit, extracts, based on a comparison between the first image data and second image data, a pattern region corresponding to the pattern in the second image data, the second image data is generated by imaging of the clothing fabric by imaging unit, corrects third image data representing an image to be printed overlaid on the pattern to match the shape of the pattern region, and causes the printing unit to perform the printing of the corrected third image data on the clothing fabric.
Print color stability
An apparatus and method for use in generating a print job for an offset printing apparatus. The method comprising determining a print job to be printed on the offset printer comprises an odd number of separations, and in response to determining that the print job comprises an odd number of separations, alternating a print order of at least two separations between odd and even pages of the print job.
APPARATUS AND METHODS USING COATINGS FOR METAL APPLICATIONS
An apparatus and methods for using coatings for metal applications are disclosed. According to one embodiment, an article comprises a cured polymeric film having a first reaction product of a cationic photoinitiator and a compound suitable for cationic polymerization. The article has a second reaction product of a free-radical photoinitiator and a compound suitable for free-radical polymerization; The article has a metal substrate, wherein the cured polymeric film coats the metal substrate.
Ink splitting multi-roll cleaner for a variable data lithography system
A cleaning subsystem for a variable data lithography system includes a cleaning roller train having a cleaning member in physical contact with an imaging member such that residual ink remaining on the imaging member, such as following transfer of an inked latent image from the imaging member to a substrate, adheres to the cleaning member through cohesion and is thereby removed from the imaging member. The cleaning roller train uses the ink-splitting mechanics to remove, transport and collect the ink waste. The key cleaning roller train is a thin but uniform layer of ink on the cleaning member that contacts the imaging member causing removal on the residual ink through cohesion.

Variable data marking direct to print media
An apparatus and method for printing directly onto print media including smooth non-absorbent media substrates (e.g., polymer films) inks having a wide range in viscosity, so that flexographic, gravure, and lithographic inks can all be contemplated. The proposed method is able to print with variable data/imaging. Dampening fluid may be patterned onto an imaging roll by coating the imaging roll with a layer of the dampening fluid and selectively evaporating off a patterned portion via a laser imaging device. The imaging roll then contacts the print substrate and transfers the patterned dampening fluid onto the substrate via film splitting. The substrate then passes through an inker station where ink is deposited directly to the substrate for attachment thereto except where rejected by the dampening fluid.
