An apparatus for manufacturing nanocomposite-ink, the apparatus comprising, a nanoparticle reservoir, an organic-matrix reservoir, a homogenizer, and a dispenser. The homogenizer combines the nanoparticles and the organic-matrix, dispersing the nanoparticles within the organic-matrix, thereby producing a nanocomposite-ink for dispensement by the dispenser.

Device for printing on hollow bodies

An inking unit of a printing unit and a device for printing on hollow bodies each have a cylindrical lateral surface. The device comprises the inking unit. The inking unit has an anilox roller which receives a printing ink from an ink reservoir and has an inking roller placed against a printing cylinder of the printing unit. A rider roller is arranged axially parallel to the anilox roller in a region between the ink reservoir and the inking roller, that region being located subsequent to the ink reservoir in a direction of rotation of the anilox roller. The ink reservoir interacts with the anilox roller. The rider roller is placed against the anilox roller. The rider roller is rotationally driven by the anilox roller by friction. The inking roller is rotationally driven by the anilox roller by friction. The plate cylinder and the anilox roller are each independently rotationally driven by a motor.

Device for printing on hollow bodies

A device for printing on hollow bodies has a plurality of printing units each having a printing cylinder. At least one of the printing units has an inking unit having a chambered doctor blade that provides printing ink. The chambered doctor blade system has at least one ink pan and a doctor blade holder in a single assembly. The single assembly of the chambered doctor blade system is retained in the inking unit only on one side. The assembly of the chambered doctor blade system forms a cantilever arm on a side frame of the inking unit. The assembly of the chambered doctor blade system can be moved axially parallel to the anilox roller and can be removed from the inking unit by that movement.

CONTACT CONTROL OF PRINT BLANKET TO IMPRESSION DRUM

In an example, a method of controlling voltage applied to a print blanket within a printing device includes printing a print job. During the printing, a null cycle trigger is received. In response to the trigger, contact between a print blanket and an impression drum is reduced.

PRINT BLANKET TEMPERATURE CONTROL

In an example, a method of controlling the temperature of a print blanket within a printing device includes printing a print job. During the printing, a pause phase start trigger is sensed. In response to sensing the pause phase start trigger, a set-point of a print blanket heating lamp is changed from a print set-point to a pause set-point to control the print blanket temperature during the pause phase.
