A sheet-fed simultaneous printing machine has two directly interacting collecting cylinders with respective axes of rotation. An axial plane contains these axes of rotation. A reference plane contains such an axis of rotation of this type and has a horizontal surface normal. The intersection angle between the axial plane and the reference plane is max 0.5°. The sheet-fed simultaneous sheet printing unit has exactly four plate cylinders, of which two are arranged such that they directly interact with the first and two are arranged to such that they directly interact with the second collector cylinder. An inking unit with a respective ink supply is arranged in each plate cylinder and a supply sectional plane is determined for each ink supply, which intersects this ink supply and which also contains the axis of rotation of the corresponding plate cylinder. An intersection angle between the reference plane and a supply sectional plane of the respective ink supply is max 35°. A sheet-fed machine comprises at least one sheet-fed printing unit of this type, as well as a sheet-fed printing unit having two directly interacting impression cylinders. An intersection angle between the axial plane on one side and the reference plane on the other side is max 45°.

Displacing a substance

According to some examples a substance displacement apparatus may comprise a gas ejection aperture and a deflector arm. The gas ejection aperture may be to direct gas towards a roller having a surface on which a substance is disposed. The deflector arm may be moveable between a first position in which gas is directed away from a target area on the surface of the roller, and a second position in which gas is directed towards the target area on the surface of the roller, thereby to displace at least some of the substance from the surface of the roller within the target area. A method and a print apparatus are also disclosed.

A viscosity measurement device includes a measurement tool having a pump for feeding a printing liquid by pressure. The viscosity measurement device includes a passage part having a first passage part in which a flow path cross-sectional area for the printing liquid is set at a first area, and a second passage part in which a flow path cross-sectional area for the printing liquid is set at a second area smaller than the first area and which is arranged on an upstream side in a supply direction of the printing liquid with respect to the first passage part, the passage part being interposed in the supply path and arranged upward toward a downstream side in the supply direction of the printing liquid; and a sensor attached to the second passage part and measuring the fall time of the measurement tool in a prescribed vertical region in the second passage part.

Offset printing of security symbols on a substrate

A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes: a first marking printed with a first gradient of two colors; a second marking printed with a second gradient of two colors; a first symbol printed with a third gradient of two colors; a second symbol printed with a fourth gradient of two colors; a third symbol printed with a fifth gradient of two colors; and a fourth symbol printed with a sixth gradient of two colors. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a third marking printed with the fourth gradient; a fourth marking printed with the third gradient; a fifth symbol printed with the second gradient; a sixth symbol printed with the first gradient; a seventh symbol printed with the sixth gradient; and an eighth symbol printed with the fifth gradient.

DISPLACING A SUBSTANCE

According to some examples a substance displacement apparatus may comprise a gas ejection aperture and a deflector arm. The gas ejection aperture may be to direct gas towards a roller having a surface on which a substance is disposed. The deflector arm may be moveable between a first position in which gas is directed away from a target area on the surface of the roller, and a second position in which gas is directed towards the target area on the surface of the roller, thereby to displace at least some of the substance from the surface of the roller within the target area. A method and a print apparatus are also disclosed.

TWO-COMPONENT DRIP EDGE

The invention relates to a device having a two-component drip edge. One side of the drip edge is formed by a material having an attractive behavior with respect to a liquid and the opposite side of the drip edge is formed from a material having a repulsive behavior with respect to the liquid. This design yields an improved drip effect.

Selective transfer roll stamp

A selective transfer roll stamp is provided which rotates on a source substrate to selectively transfer elements arranged on the source substrate. The selective transfer roller stamp includes: a roller unit rotating about an axis of rotation and including projecting portions protruding in a radial direction and recessed portions formed between neighboring projecting portions; and an adhesive layer formed on the outer circumferential surface of the roller unit and coming into contact with the elements, wherein the outer circumferential surface of the adhesive layer is made flat in a circumferential direction.

Selective transfer roll stamp

A selective transfer roll stamp is provided which rotates on a source substrate to selectively transfer elements arranged on the source substrate. The selective transfer roller stamp includes: a roller unit rotating about an axis of rotation and including projecting portions protruding in a radial direction and recessed portions formed between neighboring projecting portions; and an adhesive layer formed on the outer circumferential surface of the roller unit and coming into contact with the elements, wherein the outer circumferential surface of the adhesive layer is made flat in a circumferential direction.
