A liquid discharging apparatus is provided capable of preventing liquid from being discharged onto a medium to which any foreign substances adhere. A printing apparatus (10) (liquid discharging apparatus) includes a holding member (21) configured to hold a roll body (R1) on which a medium (M) is wound, a transport unit (40) configured to transport the medium (M) fed from the roll body (R1) held by the holding member (21) along a transport path (FP), a discharging unit (61) configured to discharge liquid onto the medium (M) transported by the transport unit (40), and a vibration unit (34) configured to apply vibration to the medium (M) being transported from the holding member (21) to the transport unit (40). In the transport path (FP), a path on which the medium M to be subjected to vibration by the vibration unit (34) is transported is referred to as a vibration transport path (FP1), and the vibration transport path (FP1) is configured to extend vertically upward as approaching from the holding member (21) to the transport unit (40).

Industrial Printer

A high speed tabletop and industrial printer is disclosed with integrated high speed RFID encoding and verification at the same time. The industrial printer simultaneously prints on and electronically encodes/verifies RFID labels, tags, and/or stickers attached to a continuous web. The industrial printer comprises a lighted sensor array for indexing the printing to the RFID tags; and a cutter powered from the industrial printer for cutting the web that the RFID tags are disposed on. The industrial printer comprises two RFID reader/writers that are individually controlled. Specifically, one of the RFID reader/writers comprises the ability to electronically encode the RFID tags while the web is moving; and the second RFID reader/writer uses an additional RFID module and antenna on the printer for verifying the data encoded to the RFID tags.

PRINTHEAD CLEANING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A system for cleaning printheads used for printing on a roll of web product is provided herein. The system includes at least one printhead configured to print ink on the roll of web product to form a roll of printed web product, and a cleaning device comprising a wipe. The system further includes a controller configured to perform a cleaning operation by causing application of a cleaning additive to a portion of the wipe and causing the cleaning device to translate across the printhead to cause the portion of the wipe to be wiped across the printhead to clean the printhead. The wipe is applied with a fluid, such as water, or a non-wetted cleaning product. Multiple passes of the cleaning device can be utilized, such as where the portion of the wipe has different or no cleaning additives. Cleaning assistance, such as vibration or heat, can be utilized.

Ejection apparatus, ejection control device, and non-transitory computer readable medium storing program causing computer to execute process for controlling ejection

An ejection apparatus includes: a first ejection unit configured to eject droplets on a recording medium conveyed in a conveyance direction to form an image for detection; a first detection unit disposed downstream of the first ejection unit and configured to detect the image for detection; a second ejection unit disposed downstream of the detection unit and configured to eject droplets on the recording medium; and a control unit configured to: predict a first elongation amount of the recording medium based on a first difference between a first set time period and a first detection time period from a reference time point to a first detection time point when the image for detection is detected by the first detection unit; and perform delay control on the second ejection unit for delaying an ejection timing of the second ejection unit based on the predicted elongation amount.
