A printing unit includes: a line feed plate moving with a carriage in a line feed operation area; and guide members provided on a unit frame, engaging with the line feed plate, and guiding the carriage and the line feed plate toward one side in a left-right direction as the carriage and the line feed plate move toward one side in a front-back direction in the line feed operation area. Each guide member includes: a line feed guide extending toward one side in the left-right direction as it goes toward one side in the front-back direction and guiding the carriage toward one side in the left-right direction as the carriage moves toward one side in the front-back direction in the line feed operation area; and regulating sections continuing at least to one end in the front-back direction of the line feed guide and regulating the movement of the carriage in the left-right direction.

ANTICIPATING MAINTENANCE IN A PRINTING DEVICE

In an example, a method of anticipating maintenance in a printing device includes determining an inertial reference signal of a printer carriage and measuring a current inertial signal of the printer carriage. The method includes cross-correlating the inertial reference signal with the current inertial signal and determining from the cross-correlating when the current inertial signal is not within a preset confidence interval of the inertial reference signal.

INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS WITH WIPER FOR INKJET HEAD
20170341374 · 2017-11-30 · ·

An inkjet printing apparatus includes: a print bar unit having a print bar, a maintainer, and a movement driver; and a controller. Upon maintenance of an inkjet head of the print bar, the controller is configured to drive the movement driver to move the maintainer from a deployment position to a retreat position with the print bar arranged at a maintenance position above a height position for printing while wiping a nozzle surface of the inkjet head with the wiper of the maintainer being moved. The deployment position is a position under the inkjet head in maintenance of the inkjet head and the retreat position is a position where the maintainer is retreated from the deployment position.

INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS FOR WEB BEING PRINT MEDIUM

An inkjet printing apparatus includes: a print bar unit including an inkjet head configured to eject ink to a web being conveyed; and a guide configured to guide movement of the print bar unit in a print bar movement direction intersecting a conveyance direction of the web between a first position, a second position, and a third position. The first position is a position where the print bar unit performs printing on the web. The second position and third position are located on one and the other sides of the first position in the print bar movement direction.

Replication Alignment of Components for Use in Inkjet Printing Applications
20170341443 · 2017-11-30 ·

Techniques for more accurately and efficiently replicating the alignment of one or more printer components with respect to another printer component are described herein. Replication may be achieved by using a fixture and a connection media to create a near exact replica of features of the fixture, or to temporarily hold multiple printer components in position while a joining layer of the connection media hardens. More specifically, a connection media, such as epoxy, can be used to fill an intentionally-established gap between connecting bodies or components that are held in a predetermined position by the replication fixture. The replication fixture represents a mechanical mounting interface that influences the position of a print head (or an array of print heads) within a printer housing or printing mechanism. Joining printer components in such a manner enables a stable mechanical coupling to be formed that does not require post operations.

METHOD OF WIPING PRINTHEAD
20220048300 · 2022-02-17 ·

A method of wiping an inkjet printhead. The method includes the steps of: lifting a print module carrier relative to a media feed path, the print module carrier having a mounting arm bridging over a wiper carriage parked at one longitudinal end of a printhead carried by the print module carrier; and moving the wiper carriage, from its parked position below the mounting arm, longitudinally along the printhead to wipe a surface of the printhead.

INK-JET PRINT HEADS PROTECTING SYSTEM IN A DIGITAL PRINTING MACHINE

The present invention relates to an ink-jet print heads protecting system in a digital printing machine, wherein the module comprises a chassis (1), rollers (2), and a plurality of digital printing units (10), each with a bridge (11) with guides (12) and a sliding carriage (13) with ink-jet print heads (14), one part of each guide overlapping the band and another part projecting beyond the band path, the carriage being movable between the printing and maintenance positions; and in that each bridge is attached to the chassis by a position adjustment device (20) and an articulation (25) that are spaced apart or by two position adjustment devices (20) that are spaced apart.

PRINTER AND METHOD OF OBTAINING INCLINATION INFORMATION OF GUIDE OF PRINTER

There is provided a printer including: a conveyance unit; a liquid jetting head including at least one nozzle array in which nozzles are arrayed; a carriage; a guide; a carriage moving unit; a memory; and a controller. The controller performs printing by performing scan printing operation and a conveyance operation multiple times repeatedly and adjusts jetting timings of the liquid jetted from the nozzles at positions in a scanning direction based on pieces of inclination information corresponding to the respective positions. In second or subsequent scan printing operation of the multiple times of scan printing operation, the controller delays or advances, based on the inclination information, the jetting timing in the second or subsequent scan printing operation relative to the jetting timing in scan printing operation immediately before the second or subsequent scan printing operation more greatly, as inclination of the at least one nozzle array increases.

Printhead assembly datuming

In one example, a datuming system to position a printhead assembly relative to a component external to the printhead assembly includes a first datum on the printhead assembly to establish a first plane, a first line, and a first point and a second datum on the printhead assembly to establish a second plane orthogonal to the first plane, a second line, and a second point.
