Tape cassette including cassette memory having first area and second area, and printing device using the same
A tape cassette includes: a case; and a cassette memory. The case accommodates therein a tape as a printing medium. The cassette memory includes: a first area; and a second area. The first area stores therein unique information specific to the tape cassette. The second area stores therein arbitrary information in an entire area thereof. The second area is set to a non-rewritable state using a first password such that the arbitrary information written therein is not rewritable. The first password is generated using a unique value which is a value of at least a part of the unique information stored in the first area and a first selection value which is an arbitrary value stored in a part of the second area specified by a predetermined rule.

TAPE CARTRIDGE
A tape cartridge includes: a tape-like member including a tape body having a first edge located in a first direction, which is one side in a width direction of the tape body, and a detection projection portion projecting in the first direction from the first edge so as to be detected by the detecting portion and having a detection end at an end thereof in the first direction; a guide portion that guides feeding of the tape-like member such that the tape-like member curves along a peripheral surface of a platen roller for feeding the tape-like member; and a contact portion that makes contact with the detection end at a position where the tape-like member curves along the peripheral surface of the platen roller.
PRINTING DEVICE, AND PRINTING CASSETTE INCLUDING CASE THAT HOUSES INPUT PART, OUTPUT PART, AND TRANSMISSION MECHANISM FOR TRANSMITTING DRIVE FORCE FROM INPUT PART TO OUTPUT PART
A printing device includes a printing cassette, and a platen roller. The printing cassette includes: a print tape; an input part into which a drive force is to be inputted; an output part rotatable about a rotational axis extending in a first direction; a transmission mechanism for transmitting the drive force from the input part to the output part; and a case. The case houses therein at least a part of the print tape, at least a part of the input part, at least a part of the output part, and at least part of the transmission mechanism. At least a part of the output part is positioned outside the case. The output part is positioned inside an outer edge of the case in a projection view where the output part and the case are projected onto a plane perpendicular to the first direction.

TAPE CASSETTE
A tape cassette that includes a housing having a front wall and a tape feed exit located on the front wall, a tape included at least partially within the housing, and a pressing portion and a first non-pressing portion on the front wall. The pressing portion and the first non-pressing portion are positioned to oppose tape type detecting switches of the label printer when the cassette is in the label printer. The pressing portion is configured to change a state of an opposing one of the tape type detecting switches, and the first non-pressing portion is configured to avoid changing a state of an opposing one of the tape type detecting switches. The first non-pressing portion is a planar area of the front wall extending in a tape width direction from a top surface of the housing to a bottom surface of the housing.
