A process for preparing a printed rigid plastic substrate is described, the process comprising: providing a rigid plastic substrate comprising a primer on a surface of the rigid plastic substrate, the primer comprising a primer resin; printing a liquid electrophotographic ink composition comprising a thermoplastic resin onto the primer on the surface of the rigid plastic substrate; depositing a cross-linking composition comprising a cross-linker onto the printed electrophotographic ink composition disposed on the primer; and laminating the rigid plastic substrate with a flexible film such that the ink composition and the cross-linker are disposed between the rigid substrate and the flexible film and wherein the lamination of the rigid substrate with the flexible film causes cross-linking of the thermoplastic resin of the ink composition and of the primer resin.

Inkjet inks for ceramic tile decoration

Solvent-based pigmented ceramic inkjet ink compositions including a solvent blend consisting predominantly of one or more hydrophobic solvent(s) (preferably one or more hydrophobic long chain hydrocarbon solvent(s)) are capable of achieving superior print quality when applied over unfired glazes by the inclusion of less than 10% by weight of the composition of a water-soluble solvent, especially glycol ethers. These ink compositions are particularly suited to ceramic tile decoration via the double fast firing process, with resulting improvements in absorption, color strength and print definition.

A film-printable UV-curable ink composition, a method for forming a bezel pattern using the same, a bezel pattern, and a display substrate comprising the bezel pattern are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the ink composition includes a black pigment, a dispersant, an alicyclic epoxy compound, an oxetane compound, an acrylic or silicone surfactant, an organic solvent having a boiling point of 200° C. or more, a photosensitizer, a photopolymerization initiator and an adhesion promoter, wherein a weight ratio of the epoxy compound to the oxetane compound is 1:3 to 1:5. The bezel pattern produced by the ink composition is thin and yet has excellent light-shielding properties so as to prevent a panel pattern of a foldable display, such as a mobile device, from being visible and light leakage from occurring.

Printing method and printing apparatus

A printing method for printing a printing medium includes a non-white ink application step of applying an aqueous non-white ink composition containing a non-white coloring material onto the printing medium, and a white ink application step of applying an aqueous white ink composition containing a white coloring material onto the non-white ink composition on the printing medium to form a superimposed region. The non-white ink composition and the white ink composition each have an organic solvent content limited to 15% or less relative to the total mass of the corresponding ink composition. The mass ratio of the white ink composition to the non-white ink composition in the superimposed region is 1.5 or more in a portion to which the non-white ink composition is applied in an amount largest in the superimposed region.

RECORDING METHOD, WATER-BASED RECORDING INK, AND PRINTED RECORDING MEDIUM

A recording method includes: discharging a water-based recording ink onto a recording medium to record an image, determining whether the recording medium is a coated paper or a non-coated paper; heating the recording medium or the water-based recording ink adhered to the recording medium with a cumulative heating amount Q1 when the recording medium is determined to be a coated paper; and with a cumulative heating amount Q2 smaller than the cumulative heating amount Q1 when the recording medium is determined to be a non-coated paper. The water-based recording ink includes: a resin dispersion pigment; a fine resin particle; a water-soluble organic compound; and water. A melting point of the water-soluble organic compound is within a range of 20 to 55° C. A viscosity of a 50 mass % aqueous solution of the water-soluble organic compound is 8.5 mPa.Math.s or more at 20° C. and 90 mPa.Math.s or less at 50° C.

METHOD OF IMPROVING ACTINIC CURE OF ENERGY CURABLE INKS AND COATINGS

Layers of energy curable inks and coatings containing little to no photoinitiator, are printed over or are covered with ink or coating layers that are not energy curable but do comprise a photoinitiator. All energy curable inks are then simultaneously cured when exposed to actinic radiation that passes through the ink or coating layers that are not energy curable but comprise photoinitiators.
