A coating device, comprising a supply roller having a first contact surface, and a counter-roller placed opposite the supply roller and a second contact surface substantially parallel to the first contact surface. The contact surfaces are at least a substrate width in width and maintain a mutual gap for receiving the substrate therein in contact with both contact surfaces. The supply roller and counter-roller are each rotatable about their central axis. A liquid is supplied to the supply roller. At least the contact surface of the supply roller or the counter-roller is axially adjustable along the central axis thereof. Adjusting means align an edge of the contact surface of the supply roller and the counter-roller with a side of the substrate. An opposite edge of the other of the supply roller and the counter-roller is aligned with an opposite side of the substrate.

A coiled metal substrate with a faux galvanized surface appearance. The faux galvanized surface of the substrate including a spangle print pattern of polyvinylidene fluoride (PFDV) flexographically applied to the metal substrate. Atop the PFDV print pattern is semi-transparent coating of fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) flexographically applied atop the spangle print pattern of PFDV.

DIGITAL PRINTING-STRUCTURED ANTIWEAR FILM HAVING ADJUSTABLE GLOSS LEVEL
20220379649 · 2022-12-01 ·

The present disclosure proposes a process for producing a structured antiwear film, comprising the process steps of: a. providing a base antiwear film, b. applying a formable outer paint layer to at least part of the area of the base antiwear film, c. at least partially structuring the outer paint layer by means of a digital printing process to create a structuring of the outer paint layer, and d. curing the outer paint layer such that the outer paint layer is first partly cured, wherein UV radiation with a wavelength in a range from ≥150 nm to ≤250 nm is used for the partial curing, and wherein the outer paint layer is then cured to completion, and wherein e. the outer paint layer, before being supplied to the printing unit for partially structuring the outer paint layer and/or during the printing operation for partially structuring the outer paint layer in the printing unit, is treated with means for changing the electrostatic charge of the outer layer, in that the outer layer is electrostatically discharged.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An image forming apparatus includes: a pretreatment section that applies a precoat liquid to a printing surface of a continuous recording medium to be transported; a printing section that sprays ink onto the continuous recording medium to which the precoat liquid is applied; and a transport section that transports the continuous recording medium along a predetermined path. The transport section includes at least one pass roller that is disposed between the pretreatment section and the printing section, the pass roller transporting the continuous recording medium to which the precoat liquid is applied toward the printing section and coming into contact with the printing surface of the continuous recording medium. A surface of the pass roller is subjected to water-repellent finishing for the precoat liquid.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A RELIEF-LIKE PRINTED IMAGE ON CONTAINERS
20220379647 · 2022-12-01 ·

A method for producing a relief-like printed image on containers is described in which print layers are layered onto one another by way of jet application of a printing paint, an ink, a varnish, or an adhesive from at least one print head onto a container, thereby producing elevated regions of the printed image. Due to the fact that the print layers are each applied in full tone printing, optical and haptic effects can be created on container surfaces with low equipment complexity and a minimal number of printing steps.

ERASABLE INK SET, ERASABLE INK PRINTING APPARATUS, INK SET CONTAINER, PRINTING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

An erasable ink set includes: an erasable ink; and an erasing time adjuster which is stored separately from the erasable ink and is capable of adjusting an erasing time of the erasable ink. The erasable ink includes a color developing agent including a pH indicator, water, and at least one selected from the group consisting of a first water-soluble organic solvent and a first surfactant. The erasing time adjuster includes water and at least one selected from the group consisting of a second water-soluble organic solvent and a second surfactant.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING DOCUMENTS WITH TEXTURE

An aqueous inkjet printer also ejects drops of UV material on an aqueous ink image and exposes the aqueous ink image and the UV material to UV radiation before passing the aqueous ink image and UV material through a thermal dryer. The exposure to UV radiation pins the UV material to the aqueous ink image and underlying substrate and the thermal dryer fixes the aqueous ink image to the substrate while releasing free radicals from the UV material. Thus, the printer produces textured prints that do not have free radicals that can irritate skin or produce noxious odors.
