LAY-FLAT BOOK PRODUCTION
Provided is a lay-flat book block production apparatus. The apparatus comprises a glue dispenser, the glue dispenser to transition between an active state in which glue is to be provided to one side of the web which is to be guided past the glue dispenser and an inactive state in which glue is not to be provided to the web which is to be guided past the glue dispenser. The apparatus further comprises a folding unit, wherein the folding unit is to fold the web along a plurality of crease lines wherein each of a plurality of flat portions of a side of the folded web faces another of the plurality of flat portions of a same side.
Post-processing apparatus, image forming system, and post-processing method
A post-processing apparatus for performing post-processing on a sheet having an image formed thereon, the post-processing at least including case bookbinding by using paste, the apparatus including: a paste applicator having a paste application member and configured to supply paste to coat a back of a sheet bundle with the paste; a pressurization member for pressing a cover onto the back of the sheet bundle with the paste coated thereon; and a controller configured to receive information relating to a cover gutter setting on the sheet bundle and to perform control over the paste applicator and the pressurization member, the controller being configured to cause, in a guttered cover setting, the paste to overflow in a larger amount from the back of the sheet bundle toward a gutter than an amount of overflow in a non-guttered cover setting based on the information relating to the cover gutter setting.
Method and device for bringing together a wrapper and a plurality of inserts to form an advertising means compilation
A method for bringing together a wrapper and a plurality of inserts can be used to form an advertising means compilation. In a region of a compilation section, the wrapper and the inserts are deposited on one another individually and in succession on a conveying element which is moved in a direction of transport. A leading edge of the wrapper is deposited offset relative to leading edges of the inserts so as to form an excess length of the wrapper. The inserts are deposited on one another, forming a stack, such that the leading edges of the inserts form a common fold edge. The excess length of the wrapper, which lies flat on the conveying element or on the stack of inserts, is folded around the fold edge and, at least in part, around the stack of inserts so as to form the advertising means compilation.
METHOD FOR BINDING A BUNDLE OF SHEETS OF PAPER, BOOK OR FOLDER THEREBY OBTAINED, BUNDLE OF SHEETS
Method for binding a bundle (5) of sheets (1), whereby an edge (2) of the bundle (5) of sheets (1) is bound, whereby use is made of sheets (1) in which a strip (4) of each of the sheets (1) is double folded separately beforehand along the same line to form a fold line (3) parallel to and at a distance (A) from the aforementioned edge (2). If paper with a density of less than 120 grams per square metre is used for the sheet (1), after having been double folded the strip (4) is folded at least once more along the aforementioned fold line (3).
Method for providing a stack composed of book covers for book production
A method for providing a stack of book covers for production of finished books includes supplying a task stack of book covers having identical cover formats and stacked one above another in an unknown or known sequence. Each book cover in the task stack includes an identifier comprising cover information. The book covers are separated out and conveyed from the task stack as separate book covers in a sequence that does not change until a completion signal is transmitted. The separated out book covers are counted, an identifier on each separated out book cover is detected, and cover information is read out of the respective identifier stored. The separated out book covers are deposited on top of one another in the sequence in which they were separated out for forming a detected stack. An identifier is stored that identifies the detected stack together with the temporarily stored cover information.
CLAMP OPENING SYSTEM FOR A MACHINE FOR PRODUCING ADHESIVELY BONDED PRINTED PRODUCTS
A machine produces an adhesively bonded book block. The machine has a clamp chain equipped with spaced apart binder clamps, which are connected to a clamp opening system. The clamp opening system has a movable internal aid for a binder clamp and an external aid, which are operably connected together. The aids open clamping jaws of the binder clamp. At a loading location for the book block, the external aid is operated by a drive to execute pressing operation on the movable internal aid. The moveable internal aid achieves an opening of the clamping jaws depending on a thickness of the book block. A recoil force is established with the drive-related pressing operation, which is converted as a pressing force onto the book block in a running cycle.
Sheet processing apparatus sheets with an adhesive
A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet holding unit, a sheet conveying unit configured to convey a plurality of sheets one by one onto the sheet holding unit during sheet processing, wherein the plurality of sheets including a first sheet and a second sheet that is conveyed immediately after the first sheet and is a last of the plurality of sheets that is conveyed, an adhesive applying unit configured to apply an adhesive material, and a control unit configured to control the adhesive material applying unit to apply the adhesive material on the first sheet held on the sheet holding unit before the second sheet is conveyed onto the first sheet and cause the adhesive material applying unit to not apply the adhesive material on the second sheet after the second sheet is conveyed onto the first sheet.
Sheet pasting and binding apparatus and sheet post-processing apparatus
A sheet pasting and binding apparatus has a paste application unit, an acquisition unit, a detection unit, and a controller. The paste application unit can change an application amount for applying paste to fed sheets. The acquisition unit acquires the number of printing instructed sheets. The detection unit detects the remaining amount of the paste. The controller controls the paste application unit so that pasting and binding are performed using a second paste application amount which is smaller than a first paste application amount while the pasting and binding are performed using the first paste application amount which is specified in advance as the paste application amount for maintaining a binding force between the sheets, based on the reception number and the remaining paste amount.
Sheet stacking device
A sheet stacking device includes a vacuum system that delivers an individual sheet toward a binder element, a sheet deflector element that presses an end of the individual sheet onto the binder element, and a sheet kick-down element that presses the individual sheet away from the vacuum system.
Sheet processing apparatus that binds sheets with an adhesive
A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet holding unit, a sheet conveying unit configured to convey a plurality of sheets one by one onto the sheet holding unit during sheet processing, wherein the plurality of sheets includes a first sheet and a second sheet that is conveyed immediately after the first sheet, an adhesive applying unit configured to apply an adhesive material on the first sheet held on the sheet holding unit before the second sheet is conveyed onto the first sheet, and a pressing unit configured to press the second sheet against the first sheet after the second sheet is conveyed onto the first sheet.
