Covert marking
Examples described herein relate to a system consistent with the disclosure. For instance, the system may comprise a printing device including hardware to form an image on a print medium, a memory resource, and a controller to receive a print job to form the markings on the print medium, designate a pixel of the received print job to form a covert dot pattern on the markings, where the pixel corresponds to a first laser intensity level; and adjust a laser intensity of the printing device to a second laser intensity level based on the first laser intensity level of the designated pixel to form the covert dot pattern.
BIODEGRADABLE ADHESIVES
A biodegradable adhesive for use in at least one chosen from glue lap, case and carton seal, slower speed carton seal and bookbinding, the biodegradable adhesive including at least one chosen from:
TABLE-US-00001 % (Parts) Water: 35-50 Defoamer: .3-.8 Gelatin: 25-35 Preservative: .2-.5 Glycerin: 7-15 Epsom Salt: 10-20 Vanilla Extract: <1 Total Parts: 100% and Water: 33-45 Defoamer: .3-.8 Gelatin: 35-45 Glycerin: 15-27 Preservative: .2-.5 Vanilla Extract: <1 Total: 100%.
System and method for heat assisted saddle finisher folding
A system and method for assembling booklets in document finishers such as saddle staplers includes first and second opposed rollers configured to receive an edge of a stapled crease of a stack of printed documents. The rollers apply both heat and pressure to the crease to form a tight fold. A second set of rollers provides further heat and pressure to the fold to increase tightness even further. Pressure and temperature of one or both roller sets is controllable to accommodate paper stacks having different numbers of pages or different paper characteristics.
Device for applying a flowable substance to a substrate
A device for applying a flowable substance to at least one substrate includes an applicator nozzle in the form of a slotted nozzle which has a stationary nozzle body with an inlet opening, a flow duct, and a nozzle slot, wherein the flowable substance is delivered through the applicator nozzle and passes from the inlet opening into the flow duct and from there to the nozzle slot, and is discharged through an outlet opening of the nozzle slot that is arranged in an outer region of the nozzle body, wherein the applicator nozzle further has a slide valve movable relative to the nozzle body in the longitudinal extent of the outlet opening and contacts the outer region of the nozzle body for modifying the covering of the outlet opening. The longitudinal extent of the flow duct is at least as great as the longitudinal extent of the nozzle slot.
Binding folder for binding leaves and method to produce such binding folder
Binding folder for binding a bundle of leaves, whereby this binding folder comprises a cover with a spine and two endpapers. In the spine a U-shaped profile from heat-conductive material is applied. The U-shaped profile comprises a base and upright arms. In the U-shaped profile a binding adhesive in the form of a hotmelt adhesive is applied. The U-shaped profile in the spine is applied by an assembly adhesive between the upright arms of the U-shaped profile and the spine of the cover. The assembly adhesive extends beyond the free edges of the upright arms and over these free edges.
Method for processing a sheet, bookbinding method, and bookbinding article
A method for processing a sheet for bookbinding includes operations. A cut is formed that divides a thickness of the sheet in a binding-side side surface of the sheet. A portion of a connection piece that is attached to the sheet is inserted into the cut as an inserted portion, and functions as a hinge in a book-bound state. The portion of the connection piece inserted into the cut is joined to the sheet.
SHEET BUNDLE CUTTING APPARATUS AND BOOKBINDING APPARATUS
A sheet bundle cutting apparatus includes a cutting portion (65) configured to cut, from a sheet bundle having one end bound with adhesive, a cutting scrap including a part of a spine of the sheet bundle, a pressure portion (59) configured to press the sheet bundle in a thickness direction while sandwiching a first surface and a second surface of the sheet bundle, and a bookbinding apparatus control CPU configured to control the pressure portion (59) and the cutting portion (65). The bookbinding apparatus control CPU causes the pressure portion (59) to press connection areas connected to the spine and respectively provided on the first surface and the second surface, and then causes the cutting portion (65) to cut the sheet bundle so that the cutting scrap includes a pressed area pressed by the pressure portion (59). Accordingly, it is possible to suppress spreading of the cutting scraps.
SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM PROVIDED WITH THE SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS
A sheet processing apparatus includes a processing tray to place the sheet, a load tray provided on a downstream side of the processing tray in a transport direction, neat alignment plates provided outside a main body housing to shift in a width direction orthogonal to the transport direction and to align opposite sides of the sheet, a sheet support surface provided in a different position adjacent to the processing tray to support a sheet inserted from a manual feed opening, a binding processing apparatus to perform binding processing on sheets placed on the sheet support surface, a regulation surface to regulate a side edge of the sheet located at a side of the load tray, and a width-direction drive mechanism to shift the neat alignment plates between an alignment position aligning a sheet on the load tray in the width direction and a retract position different from the alignment position.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR BRINGING TOGETHER A WRAPPER AND A PLURALITY OF INSERTS TO FORM AN ADVERTISING MEANS COMPILATION
A method for bringing together a wrapper and a plurality of inserts can be used to form an advertising means compilation. In a region of a compilation section, the wrapper and the inserts are deposited on one another individually and in succession on a conveying element which is moved in a direction of transport. A leading edge of the wrapper is deposited offset relative to leading edges of the inserts so as to form an excess length of the wrapper. The inserts are deposited on one another, forming a stack, such that the leading edges of the inserts form a common fold edge. The excess length of the wrapper, which lies flat on the conveying element or on the stack of inserts, is folded around the fold edge and, at least in part, around the stack of inserts so as to form the advertising means compilation.
