A pocket device for papers or the like includes a major panel and a pocket panel attached to the inner surface of the major panel to define a pocket between the major panel and the pocket panel. The pocket panel has a secured edge along which the pocket panel is attached to the major panel. The pocket panel also has a free edge along which the pocket panel is unattached to the major panel so that the free edge is moveable away from the major panel to allow one or more papers to be inserted into the pocket. The free edge of the pocket panel is disposed next to the secured edge and extends transversely of the secured edge. The pocket panel has a stress relief area for reducing and minimizing tearing of the pocket panel. The stress relief area located along the free edge proximate to the secured edge.

At least one of the touch sensors of the plurality of touch sensors may be integrated into the base. At least one of the plurality of sheets of paper may be retained on the base and in close proximity to the at least one of the touch sensors. The digital notepad may further include a display screen communicatively connected to the onboard computer and configured to display markings read by at least one of the plurality of touch sensors. In another embodiment, the digital notepad's writing instrument includes thermally reactive ink. In another embodiment, the digital notepad includes an eraser movably and detachably connected to the base. The eraser may include a thermal unit that is configured to change the temperature of the thermally reactive ink on at least one of the plurality of sheets of paper, such that a reaction is induced.

Bookbinding apparatus and image forming system

The book binding device includes a section for forming a cut in the end side of a conveyed sheet, a control section for controlling the section for forming a cut, and a selection section for selecting each sheet for the presence/absence of a cut to be formed by the section for forming a cut, wherein the control section controls the formation of a cut by the section for forming a cut based on the presence/absence of the formation of a cut selected by the selection section, and then the mixture of sheets in which cuts are formed and sheets in which cuts are not formed are bundled and bound to complete a booklet.

Paper product with bleed-through resistant and show-through resistant qualities
09995004 · 2018-06-12 · ·

A sheet of material that reduces or eliminates the incidence of bleed-through and show-through, thereby enabling a user to prepare artwork, sketches, designs, etc. on both sides of the sheet of material, without the incidence of bleed-through or show-through. The sheet of material includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and an adhesive material positioned between the first and second substrates to operatively join the first and second substrates to each other. The adhesive material acts as a moisture barrier, thereby preventing ink or moisture from passing therethrough and saturating the second substrate when ink or moisture is applied to the first substrate and vice versa. The adhesive also serves as a light barrier, thereby reducing or eliminating show-through on the second substrate when ink or moisture is applied to the first substrate and vice versa. Multiple sheets of material may be bound into a sketch book or pad.

Media binder

A media binder, comprising: a front surface board, at least one spine board, and a back surface board, wherein each board comprises an inwardly facing surface and an outwardly facing surface; a cover sheet wrapped around the outwardly facing surface of the spine board and a portion of a surface cover sheet, the surface cover sheet wrapped around the outwardly facing surface of at least one surface board and comprises a first marginal edge attached to the inwardly facing surface of the at least one surface board and a second marginal edge unattached to the inwardly facing surface of the at least one surface board; at least one spring clamp to secure physical media inserted between clamp edges of the at least one spring clamp; and a tension sheet attached to the at least one spring clamp and the inwardly facing surface of the at least one surface board.

Refill for stationery item, and stationery item comprising such a refill

Disclosed is a stationery item that includes a cover and removable contents forming a refill. The refill includes: a block of stacked pages forming two main outer surfaces by a certain thickness; a binding that binds the pages of the block together at the back of the block; and a flexible covering strip that covers the binding. The covering strip includes: a back portion which outwardly covers the binding and which is provided with magnetic elements, and two side portions that are attached to both of the main surfaces of the block, respectively. The refill can be removably attached to the back of the cover which includes built-in magnetic means for attracting the magnetic elements of the refill.

Arrangements and assembly methods for a media binder and its components

A media binder has an inner assembly and a case assembly, The inner assembly includes inside boards pre-attached to a binding mechanism. Adhesive is placed on outward surfaces of the inside boards. The case assembly includes a cover sheet with at least one marginal edge attached to surface boards and at least one loose edge. To customize cover, a printed cover is inserted in-between the cover sheet and the surface board through an opening formed by the loose edge. The case assembly is then laminated. The laminated case assembly is combined with the inner assembly using the adhesive on the inside boards. A one-piece media binder has cover sheets wrapping around surface boards forming pockets. The surface boards are partially attached to paste downs. To customize cover, printed covers are inserted into the pockets, and the paste downs are then attached to the surface boards to seal loose edges.

Controlled silicone release during xerographic printing to create pressure sensitive adhesive release coat

A process to apply pressure sensitive adhesive to cut sheet media and eliminate a separate release liner. A Silicone release layer is applied during fusing on a top surface of cut media and then UV cured. A pressure sensitive adhesive layer is applied next. The cut sheets are then stacked and a compressive force is applied that transfers the pressure sensitive adhesive from one sheet to another and helps hold the stack together.
