Method for securing flexible hinges binding laminate sheets into security documents and secured security documents
A security document (e.g. passport) comprising a protective feature for authenticating a laminate data sheet thereof and method for making the same. A metalized flexible hinge attached to the laminate data sheet is used to bind the laminate data sheet into the passport with one or more other sheets at a binding of the passport such that at least a portion of the metalized surface of the flexible hinge is visible proximate to the laminate data sheet. Personalization data is etched on the visible portion of the metalized surface of the flexible hinge and matches personalization data of the laminate data sheet.

Edge tabs for notebook
A tab is provided for notebooks and binders. The tab is placed within the space otherwise occupied by a binding, and thus is protected from wear and does not appreciably increase the overall size of the notebook or binder. The tab may be located at a corner of the binding or at an intermediate point along the binding.

LAMINATED FOIL STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
When forming layer stacks in the presence of solder material, uncontrolled flow of the solder material at the interface of two different layers of the layer stack may significantly be mitigated by providing an area of increased pressure in the material of the overlaying foil layer. For example, the area of increased pressure may be generated during the lamination process by providing a pressure inducing structure, for instance on the underlying foil layer, which laterally surrounds the solder material and therefore, in combination with the material of the overlying foil layer, reliably confines the solder material.
AUTHENTICATION MEDIUM, AUTHENTICATION MEDIUM MANUFACTURING METHOD, AUTHENTICATION MEDIUM READING METHOD, AND AUTHENTICATION MEDIUM VERIFICATION METHOD
An authentication medium includes a sheet-like laminate sheet; a first region that is formed on the laminate sheet and where personal identification information is recorded; and a second region that is formed on the laminate sheet and has a hologram structure where check data associated with first individual information is recorded.
Concealment device
A concealment device for use with a notary book, the concealment device comprising an opaque, removable, reusable single sheet of static cling material sufficiently wide to cover confidential information contained on pages of the notary book when the notary book is being signed, the sheet having an upper and lower surface, the lower surface configured to secure to the notary book pages by static cling, and a bottom portion having a plurality of identifications that correspond with and align with identifications on the notary book when the concealment device is placed on the open notary book. A combination comprising a notary book having a plurality of notary pages, each notary page comprising a plurality of columns, the book having two pages in an open position for entering information into the notary book and a concealment device placed on the two pages in the open position of the notary book.
