MOISTURE-ERASABLE NOTE TAKING SYSTEM
A method of reusing a notebook provides a notebook having a synthetic-paper page. The method also provides a thermochromic ink pen which, when used to write on the synthetic paper page, leaves thermochromic ink markings. The method further provides a moisture carrier configured to have a liquid diffused therein. The moisture carrier is configured to erase the thermochromic ink markings from the synthetic-paper page by contacting the thermochromic ink markings when the moisture carrier is moist. The method then writes with thermochromic ink on at least a portion of the synthetic-paper page. Liquid is diffused in the moisture carrier, and the portion of the synthetic-paper page having the thermochromic ink is wiped with the moist moisture carrier, such that the thermochromic ink is erased from the synthetic-paper page.

A handwriting input system includes a board for writing and a pen that serves as a writing instrument. The pen includes a pen tip that leaves visible handwriting on the board when the pen tip comes into contact with the board and an identification circuit that provides an identification signal. The board includes a coordinate detection section that detects position coordinates of a position on the board where the pen tip is in contact with the board and a pen identification section that detects the identification signal in a contactless manner.

Provided by the present inventions are a pattern-printed sheet and a method for manufacturing this, wherein the pattern-printed sheet is characterized that on a precoat layer laminated on a substrate are formed an optically readable region in which a dot pattern optically readable by an input terminal is printed and an optically unreadable region in which a dot pattern optically unreadable by an input terminal is printed, and the dot pattern formed in the optically unreadable region is a halftone tint having regularity whose halftone dot concentration is in the range of 10 to 30%. This pattern-printed sheet not only can be obtained by using a gravure printing method having outstanding production efficiency but also has a dot pattern readable with high reading precision in a prescribed dot size.

Provided by the present inventions are a pattern-printed sheet and a method for manufacturing this, wherein the pattern-printed sheet is characterized that on a precoat layer laminated on a substrate are formed an optically readable region in which a dot pattern optically readable by an input terminal is printed and an optically unreadable region in which a dot pattern optically unreadable by an input terminal is printed, and the dot pattern formed in the optically unreadable region is a halftone tint having regularity whose halftone dot concentration is in the range of 10 to 30%. This pattern-printed sheet not only can be obtained by using a gravure printing method having outstanding production efficiency but also has a dot pattern readable with high reading precision in a prescribed dot size.

A liquid crystal writing device with enhanced line acuity includes the following features. Included is a front writing surface. A liquid crystal layer includes a dispersion of cholesteric liquid crystal and polymer, wherein a reflectance of the cholesteric liquid crystal changes in response to pressure applied to the front writing surface so as to form an image on the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between electrically conductive layers. A second of the electrically conductive layers is more distal from the front writing surface than a first of the electrically conductive layers is from the front writing surface. A backing supports the pressure applied to the front writing surface. An adhesive layer is disposed between the second of the electrically conductive layers and the backing. A line acuity of the image has a value of not more than 3.0 determined according to the Line Acuity Measurement Method of this disclosure.
