Device for use with a reference tool
A device is provided for use with a reference tool during the construction of metal structures. The device comprises a body having a groove formed therein for receiving a portion of a straight side of the reference tool. The body further comprises a base surface for co-operating with the surface of a metal workpiece. The base surface is configured whereby, when a portion of the straight side is received within the groove, the base surface is parallel to the straight side of the reference tool. A retention assembly is mounted on the body for retaining the portion of the straight side of the reference tool, when provided, within the groove. At least one magnet is mounted on the base surface for temporarily holding the device to the metal workpiece, thereby holding the reference tool in position.
Combination Square and Method of Adjusting The Same
A combination square is provided with a square head that includes a pair of bores extending through a blade receiving slot, a pair of pins, each pin having an eccentric outermost surface and being engaged in a corresponding one of the bores, and a ruled blade that is releasably engaged in the slot such that the relative angle between the head and the blade can be adjusted by rotating one or both of the pins about the axis of the corresponding bore.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS OF MULTI-FUNCTIONAL WRITING DEVICE
A multifunctional writing instrument includes a hollow body, wherein the hollow body comprises one or more cavities configured to attach with a plurality of technical drawing tools. A first writing member having a first writing tip is included. The first writing member includes lead and a mechanical pencil system being provided in a first portion of the hollow body, and wherein the first writing tip is axial with respect to the hollow body. A second writing member having a second writing tip is included. The second writing member comprises ink and an ink pen system being provided in a second portion of the hollow body. The first portion of the hollow body is at an opposite end of the second portion of the hollow body. The second writing tip is axial with respect to the hollow body.
FRAMING TOOL ADAPTABLE FOR USE WITH A FRAMING SQUARE
A framing tool includes a pair of slotted beams that are affixed together at each end using an end spacer of a thickness selected to maintain the two slotted beams at a separation that allows a framing square to slide easily but snugly therebetween. Then, a user can cause the slotted beams to clamp down on the framing square using two sliding clamps so as to trap the framing square between the two slotted beams. The first sliding clamp is slidable along a slot of the pair of slotted beams, and the second sliding clamp is slidable along a slot of the pair of slotted beams. The framing tool also includes: a pair of end-fixed spacer assemblies, a first end-fixed spacer assembly configured to squeeze together the first ends against an end spacer, and a second end-fixed spacer assembly configured to squeeze together the second ends against an end spacer.
Rotating and adjustable pipe fitting square with force sensitive keepers
A squaring device includes a longitudinal square component configured to form a flange defining a slot therein, the slot adapted to rotatably receive a flat stock end. An L shaped square component includes a first outside edge and a second outside edge, the first and the second outside edges configured to form a flange defining a slot therein along a length of the flange, the flange adapted to rotatably receive one of the first forty-five degree and the second forty-five degree flat stock ends of the longitudinal square component. A magnetic clip is adjustable to fit either the flange end or the flat stock ends of the longitudinal square and the L square components via adjustable linear force sensitive pins, wherein a squaring device is formed and fixed magnetically and mechanically in place for pipe fitting by a combination thereof. Level indicators therein include magnifying lens and lighting.
Guide for cutting walls
A wall cutting guide includes a guide member for guiding a cutting tool, the guide member having an opening therein and the opening having first and second sides; and a clamp. The clamp includes a deformable locator which can be deformed by a variable amount, a spindle, and a handle. The locator is arranged to be inserted in a hole in a wall. The spindle extends through the opening and out of the first and second sides of the opening. On the first side of the opening the handle is connected to the spindle. On the second side of the opening the locator is connected to the spindle. The handle is adjustable to control the amount by which the locator is deformed thereby to locate the locator in the hole.
PLOTTER APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR DRAWING A POLYGON INSCRIBED WITHIN A CIRCLE
A plotter apparatus inscribes a polygon in a circle, and includes a ruler body, a first slider, a second slider, multiple brachiums, and a nib member. The ruler body comprises a knap, and a first ruler groove and a second ruler groove to allow movement of the first slider and the second slider. The brachiums are connected across the ruler body via pivots. The nib member allows to draw the circle. A fourth brachium is attached to a pre-determined numbered hole on a second and a third brachium as per the number of sides required on the polygon. The length of each side of the polygon is retrieved between the knap and a slider. Cyclic arcs, with the determined length as a length of one side of the polygon, are drawn along the circumference of the circle. The arc intersections on the circle are joined together to define the polygon.
Field Slope Angle Tool And Trenching Method
The inventive concept presented is a trench slope angle tool and the method for using the slope angle tool during the excavation of a trench in a particular type of soil. In essence the slope angle tool is a planar, hand-held sighting device having a handle integrally attached to a Y-shaped component. The device may be utilized by a construction worker or project supervisor (the user) at a trenching worksite. The user visually superimposes the slope and banks of the trench against the contours of the slope angle tool to determine compliance with government-regulated excavation standards. Other important construction safeguards and govemmentally-regulated standards are also displayed on each face of the slope angle tool. In this manner, the correct trench sidewall slope, spoil pile locations, and other safety requirements can be readily observed to determine whether these elements are in compliance with the governmental regulations.
MULTI-TOOL DEVICE
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a multi-tool device including a main body forming a handle, a bottle opener disposed on one end of the handle and a claw disposed on the other end of the handle. The multi-tool device is formed of a single piece of material and may include additional tools, such as a magnet cavity, strike points, pry ledge, utility holes, and a male adaptor configured to allow the attachment of the multi-tool device to other tools or accessories containing a female adaptor. The claw may include a curved portion that is split down a middle thereof to form a V-shaped opening within which a cutter may be formed. The handle may further include a ruler with metric and/or standard units of distance.
