A decorative article comprises a base plate having at least one hanging elongate slot defined therein; and a receiving member including a single first plate, at least two second plates, and a hanger, wherein the first plate is parallel to the base plate, and each of the at least two second plates is non-parallel to the base plate and is coupled to the first plate, to define an inner space and a top opening in the receiving member, wherein the hanger protrudes from the first plate, wherein the hanger is fitted into the hanging elongate slot to secure the receiving member to the base plate.

A wire-frame and fiberglass holiday motif has multiple pinpoint lights secured and arranged on a wire frame so as to convey a three-dimensional form of the holiday motif. In addition, one or more molded fiberglass portions have been secured to the wire frame and present an outer surface corresponding to an expressive feature of the holiday motif, such as a face. The thickness of the fiberglass has been selected such that it becomes translucent when illuminated by a subset of the pinpoint lights at night proximate to such fiberglass portions. The combination of planar surfaces defined by a pattern of pinpoint lights visible to the user, and one or more portions of molded fiberglass conveying expressive features of the holiday motif enhance viewing of the holiday motif both by day and by night.

A mat board is provided and is formed of a body having outer peripheral edges and an inner window formed therein. The inner window is defined by a sloped side wall that extends peripherally around the inner window and extends from a top surface of the body to a bottom surface of the body. In one example, a three dimensional representation of a soccer ball is provided wherein the soccer ball is surrounded by a clear plastic decal having a cracking so as to represent cracks within the wall on which the device is mounted. Within the shell of the soccer ball in this exemplary embodiment, are lighting elements which allow the device to be used as a nightlight.

A three dimensional visual element includes a decal or other device to simulate a crack or break within the wall on which the visual elements is mounted. The method makes it possible to produce a decorated element for a timepiece or piece of jewelry. This decorated element may be, for example, a watch dial. The method includes the steps of taking a base substrate, and micromachining on said base substrate a mold or decorative partitions in a programmed pattern, and filling the mold or the decorative partitions with at least one filler material to obtain the decorated element. The filler material may be an epoxy resin and the mold or the partitions are obtained by melting and solidifying a solder paste or powder.
