Image making medium compositions and images
The present invention relates to a macroscopic, two or three-dimensional image-making support medium which is a new reinvented version of a conventional utilitarian fine artist's canvas, armature or image support, the novel image support medium facilitates artistic expression and the creation and display of macroscopic art, design or architecture, made therewith, thereupon or therefrom. The invention also relates to various methods of making such novel image-making support mediums and the works of art, design and architecture made with, on and from them. Examples are new works of art, design and architecture made with very thin, light-emitting devices; works of art, design and architecture capable of interactivity, responsiveness and/or change, and works of art, design and architecture with new and extraordinary aesthetic and/or functional properties from the use of nanomaterials.

Compositions and image making media
The invention relates to compositions for forming an aesthetic work of art, design or architecture made as, from, with and/or on an image support medium. Compositions of the image support mediums generally include one or more light-emitting devices, one or more non-light-emissive devices capable of change, a form that is partially or entirely transparent or translucent, or a combination of these. Examples are made using organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), thin light-emitting devices, electronic paper technology and polymer compositions with an aspect of their permanence enhanced. Among other variations of the invention are works prepared with a composition or a means of display or installation that optimizes or enhances them aesthetically. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the composition and the image support medium.

Partially perforated assembly
A partially perforated assembly includes a perforated film layer, a perforated adhesive layer applied to one side of said film layer, a non-perforated overlaminate film layer on the other side of said perforated film layer, and a release liner on the side of said perforated adhesive layer remote from said perforated film layer. When the release liner is removed and the remaining layers of the assembly are applied to a substrate, the remaining layers of the assembly comprise a void network. The void network fluidly interconnects at least two discrete perforation holes in the perforated film and adhesive layers with each other and/or the ambient environment around the assembly so as to facilitate air communication among the holes and/or between the holes and the ambient environment.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DECORATIVE ELEMENT AND USE OF THE DECORATIVE ELEMENT
The invention relates to a method for producing a decorative element DE and uses of a decorative element DE produced in this way.
A polarizing layer PS which functions as an analyzer is applied to a transparent optical carrier material TM and a transparent optical functional layer FS is applied to the other side as an image-forming layer BS which consists of an optically anisotropic material OAM.
By spatially structuring the functional layer FS in an image-forming manner, a targeted location-dependent dependency of material properties of the optically anisotropic material OAM is created for producing the image-forming layer BS in the form of an image motif BM.
One or several decorative elements DE produced according to the invention can each be introduced into a light field of a lighting device BV in a desired shape, size and quantity and having settable image motifs BM (image structures) and being disposed at different spatial distances and being freely disposable.
Furthermore, in terms of a device, the decorative element produced according to the invention is intended to be used as an architectural element for creating light-optical effects in the exterior area of buildings, as a design element for interior design or for object design.
Optical device that produces flicker-like optical effects
An optical device that produces flicker-like optical effects is provided. The optical device employs directionally cured image icons. Specifically, the optical device is made up of at least one arrangement of image icons formed from one or more cured pigmented materials, and at least one arrangement of optionally embedded focusing elements positioned to form one or more synthetic images of at least a portion of the arrangement(s) of image icons. Some or all of the pigmented material(s) is cured using collimated light directed through the focusing elements toward the arrangement(s) of image icons at one or more angles relative to a surface of the optical device to form directionally cured image icons. The synthetic image(s) of the directionally cured image icons is viewable at the cure angle(s) and therefore visually appears and disappears, or turns on and off, as the viewing angle of the device moves through the cure angle(s).
