VEHICLE WHEEL NOISE-REDUCING DAMPER
20170144479 · 2017-05-25 ·

This invention concerns a damper used to reduce the running noise of track wheels. It can absorb wheel vibration, reduce oscillation amplitude and reduce the noise radiation of the wheel. The damper has a damping connector and a damping ring which has an open section; the end of the open section has an angled plane; the damping connector has a pipe-shaped object with two locating objects at the both ends; the locating object has a bar which can get into the pipe-shaped object and a wedge-shaped object which matches the angled plane of the end of the open section; inside the pipe-shaped object is a spring which can push out the two locating objects; each locating object has a locating hole which allows a bar to get through from the pipe-shaped object.

WHEELSET MEASUREMENT DEVICE FOR WHEELSETS OF RAIL VAHICLES

A wheelset measurement device (1) for the wheelsets (2) of rail vehicles is used to check the wheelsets (2) of rail vehicles for an operationally safe state and for meeting the operating limit measures when built into the rail vehicles. In order to facilitate such checks with comparatively little effort and high reliability, the wheelset measurement device (1) has two separate device subunits (7,8) that can be displaced individually and which each can be pushed laterally against the wheelset (2) and be arranged in the position pushed against the wheelset (2).

A wheel for a roller coaster or other amusement ride vehicle includes a self-contained illumination system. The wheel comprises a hub through which an axle is disposed, a web extending from the hub and including a plurality of apertures, and an annular seat at a periphery of the web for receiving a tire thereon, the annular seat cooperating with the hub and the web to define an annular cavity. A PCB is disposed in the annular cavity and has a plurality of LEDs aligned with the plurality of apertures on the web. A permanent magnet generator within the wheel powers the PCB and the LEDS, the generator completely confined to the interior of the wheel.

AXLE OF WHEEL SETS AND RESPECTIVE METHOD FOR THE ULTRASOUND INSPECTION
20170106881 · 2017-04-20 · ·

An axle of railway wheel sets and a corresponding method for the ultrasound inspection are described. A blind hole, coaxial to the axle and sized to accommodate an ultrasonic probe, is obtained in each end of the axle. Main holes are intended to accommodate the probe holder containing a plurality of ultrasonic transducers for the inspection of the axle from the inside of the hole. The main advantage is to facilitate the propagation of the ultrasounds without being subjected to the interference caused by the geometric discontinuities normally present at the ends of the axles thereby minimizing false positives in the readings of the echoes.

Method for repairing rail wheels

A method of repairing a rail wheel including removing a selected segment of a rim of the rail wheel to provide a remaining segment having a first engagement surface, and providing a replacement workpiece including a replacement body element having a second engagement surface formed to mate with the first engagement surface. The replacement workpiece is positioned to define a predetermined gap between the first and second engagement surfaces. One or more heating elements are positioned in the predetermined gap, for induction heating, in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, of first and second heated portions of the remaining segment and the replacement workpiece, and the first and second engagement surfaces, to a hot working temperature, for plastic deformation thereof. The heating elements are removed, and the first and second engagement surfaces are engaged for plastic deformation of at least part of the first and second heated portions and the engagement surfaces.

A railway wheel includes a rotation axis and a supporting disk which can be attachable on an axle at the rotation axis. The supporting disk can be coupled with a wheel rim for rolling on a rail. The wheel provides damping means of the rim with respect to the supporting disk which include elastic elements interposed between the disk and the rim, aside with respect to the median plane of the wheel. Each elastic element has its own geometrical axis and includes a first face facing the median plane of the wheel and a second face opposed thereto and facing the opposite part with respect the median plane of the wheel, so that the elastic element extends its thickness between the two faces. The first and second faces of each elastic element have the same concavity or convexity when considered in cross section in any plane containing the geometrical axis.
