WHEEL END ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF SERVICING

A wheel end assembly and a method of servicing. The wheel end assembly may include a wheel hub, a mounting ring, and a brake rotor. The mounting ring may be removably coupled to the wheel hub with a first set of fasteners. The brake rotor may be removably mounted to the mounting ring with a second set of fasteners.

In-wheel motor with cooling system

A vehicle wheel assembly comprises a wheel for mounting a tire thereon and having an inner space; and an in-wheel motor mounted in the inner space of the wheel and comprising: a rotor connected to the wheel and configured to rotatable relative to a stator, the stator configured to drive the rotor, an electronic device comprising a circuit board and electronics mounted on the circuit board and configured to control the in-wheel motor, two-phase dielectric material, and covers coupled with the stator to form a hermetic enclosure. The electronic device and the two-phase dielectric material are contained in the hermetic enclosure formed by the wall of the stator and the covers coupled with stator, and the two-phase dielectric material is in contact with the wall of the stator and the electronic device to cool the stator and the electronic device by transitioning between a liquid phase and a gaseous phase, conduction, and convection.

A scooter wheel assembly consists of a rim which holds a tire and said rim having as its axial hole two tapers meeting at its mid-plane. The rim accepts two hub halves of which each is a frustum, such that clamping forces across the opposed conical surfaces of the pair of frusta firmly enforce concentricity between the axle and the rim and its tire. The rim and tire are connected to the axle exclusively by frictional coupling. Advantageously for changing a rim or tire, the hub parts can be quickly disassembled with common tools.

A hub unit includes: a bearing section including an outer ring, an inner ring disposed coaxially with and inside the outer ring, rolling elements disposed in a bearing inner space, and a sealing member sealing the bearing inner space at an end on a vehicle inner side; a hub ring including a body portion, and a wheel mounting flange portion on which a wheel is to be mounted; and a covering member protecting the bearing section from a foreign substance. The covering member is fixed to rotate integrally with the hub ring and the inner ring, and covers an end on the vehicle inner side of the bearing section. A part of the covering member opposing to an end surface on the vehicle inner side of the outer ring is not parallel to the end surface.

BICYCLE HUB STRUCTURE

A bicycle hub structure has a hub seat, an interlocking ring, a chainring seat, a shaft sleeve and a one-way bearing. The assembling space of the hub seat is installed with the interlocking ring by screw locking, and the chamber of the chainring seat is also screwed with the shaft sleeve. In particular, the inner surface of the interlocking ring and the control section of the shaft sleeve have been treated with special surface treatments to strengthen the hardness, which not only retaining the lightweight effect of the hub seat and the chainring seat and locally increasing the strength and hardness of the structure to avoid being scratched and worn by the one-way bearing. As result, a more stable transmission state is achieved and the durability of the structure is improved.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING WHEEL BEARING APPARATUS, AND WHEEL BEARING APPARATUS

Provided is a method of manufacturing a wheel bearing apparatus including an outer ring, a rolling element, a hub spindle, and an inner ring member. The hub spindle is disposed inward of the outer ring in a radial direction via the rolling element. The inner ring member fitted on the hub spindle and is secured by a clinched portion. The clinched portion is formed by clinching a spindle end portion of the hub spindle outward in the radial direction. The method includes: plating a predetermined area including the spindle end portion of the hub spindle; removing a plating of the spindle end portion of the predetermined area; and clinching the spindle end portion to form the clinched portion after removing the plating.

A wheel bearing assembly may include a wheel hub having a hub flange; one or more inner rings configured to be mounted to one side of the wheel hub; an outer ring provided radially outward of the one or more inner rings; a spacer coupled to a vehicle-body-side end portion of an inner ring disposed on a vehicle-body-side; and one or more rolling elements provided between the one or more inner rings and the outer ring. The one or more inner rings may be configured to be held on the wheel hub by plastically deforming a vehicle-body-side end portion of the wheel hub in a radially outward direction. A plurality of recesses for accommodating rotating elements of a constant velocity joint may be formed on an inner peripheral surface of the vehicle-body-side end portion of the wheel hub in a spaced-apart relationship with each other along a circumferential direction.

Heat shield retainer and method

A heat shield assembly is disclosed. In various embodiments, the heat shield assembly includes a first heat shield segment having a first end and a second end spaced from the first end, the first end including a first hook member and the second end including a second hook member; and a first heat shield retainer including a first clip member configured to engage the first hook member and a second clip member.

Sensorized suspension assembly for vehicles, including a wheel hub unit and a suspension upright or knuckle, and an associated method and wheel hub unit

In a vehicle suspension assembly a sensorized system applied to a wheel hub unit, in which radially outer cylindrical surface of an outer ring of the wheel hub unit configured for coupling to a suspension upright or knuckle has four circumferential flats formed to be angularly spaced from each other on the radially outer lateral cylindrical surface, each flat delimiting a plane surface which extends axially over a pair of annular tracks for rolling bodies of the outer ring; each flat carries integrally a sensor module including a pair of extensometers positioned parallel to each other and each at the position of a respective annular track, orientated in a circumferential direction so as to extend along a circumferential development of the annular track; an electrical circuit picks up a signal from each sensor module and sends it to a data socket carried by the suspension upright or knuckle.
