Lock Nut

In one aspect, a lock nut is provided that includes a washer, a threaded body, and an actuator that are distinct from one another. The washer is configured to form a non-rotatable connection with a vehicle spindle. The threaded body has threads to engage threads of the vehicle spindle. The actuator has a rotary drive structure and is configured to be turned in a tightening direction to cause turning of the threaded body in the tightening direction relative to the washer. The lock nut includes a lock operably coupled to the actuator and configured to inhibit turning of the threaded body in a loosening direction relative to the washer. The actuator is configured to be turned relative to the threaded body in the loosening direction to disengage the lock and permit turning of the threaded body in the loosening direction relative to the washer.

Axle differential guard

A guard for protecting a drain plug and a ground-facing surface of an axle housing on a machine including a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a body configured to be mounted to the axle housing to protect at least portion of the ground-facing surface of the axle housing. The body includes an opening configured to allow access to and removal of the drain plug through the opening. The second portion is removably couplable to the first portion. When the second portion is attached to the first portion, the second portion covers the opening to protect the drain plug. When the second portion is removed, the drain plug is accessible and removable to service oil in the axle housing.

PORTAL-AXLE OF LOW FLOOR RAIL VEHICLES AND RAIL-AND-TRAM VEHICLES

A portal-axle of bogies for light rail vehicles, such as for example trams or light rail metros with street running, is described, the light rail vehicles being characterized by a floor, i.e. a walking surface, lowered with respect to the rails. The portal-axle comprises two shoulders equipped with spindles for mounting wheels and with a central portion for structurally connecting the shoulders. Unlike conventional solutions, the central portion is not made by casting or forging, but advantageously is simply defined by at least two bars coupled thereto during the assembly. The bars are easily available on the market at low cost, have lower weight with respect to a traditional forged/cast component and allow modularity and versatility in dimensioning the portal-axle to be obtained.

Sealed removable spindle for a spring axle
20200171883 · 2020-06-04 ·

A removable spindle assembly improvement comprised of a spindle housing end unit having a threaded cavity. A corresponding threaded removable spindle is torqued into the threaded cavity. The spindle has a tapered section that includes O-rings for creating a seal along the corresponding section of the cavity to prevent corrosion which assists in the elimination of spindle seizure within the spindle housing end unit's cavity. The spindle assembly has an interlocking key assembly that assists in securing the spindle. The spindle housing end unit's housing includes a threaded aperture that cooperates with a sealed set screw for securing the spindle in place during operation. This assembly facilitates easy removal and replacement of a spindle on a spring axle.

Steer axle tire inflation system

A steer axle spindle may have one or more channels formed therein. A rotary union may be mounted to a steer axle wheel end assembly. The rotary union may be sealingly connected to a pressurized fluid source through the channel, and sealingly connected to a vehicle tire.

Axle adapter assembly

An axle adapter assembly, configured for enabling conversion of an axle installed on a vehicle to fit different center bore sizes of wheel hubs, including: an axle configured for coupling dropouts of fork legs of a lower fork; adapters configured for being inserted within the dropouts; the adapters configured for engaging an outer surface of the axle and retaining the axle upon engagement; and axle pinch shims configured for being inserted into slits of the dropouts and the adapters, wherein upon the insertion, the adapters are aligned with the dropouts, such that shoulders of the adapters retain edges of a wheel hub of the wheel hubs.

TRAILER AXLE

An axle cartridge member receives a pair of torsion stub axles at opposite lateral sides thereof. The torsion stub axles include elongated axle housings, which are sandwiched between two parallel plates to align the torsion stub axles with respect to one another. The cartridge member includes a central arch extending between the two torsion stub axles, which can provide additional ground clearance when the axle cartridge member is mounted to a trailer.

SNOWBLOWER WHEEL ATTACHMENT
20200148002 · 2020-05-14 ·

A method to elevate a snowblower that includes the steps of: assembling a wheelbase, wherein said wheelbase includes a first wheel and a second wheel placed on a horizontal axle and a vertical post extending therefrom; inserting bolts through a mounting platform attached to the vertical post; and securing the bolts to a forward underside of the snowblower. During use of the snowblower, a user removes the bolts and wheelbase. The present invention further relates to a removable wheelbase that includes: a horizontal axle; a first wheel and a second wheel on the horizontal axle; a vertical post extending from the horizontal axle; a mounting platform at the top of the vertical post; and an attachment means inserted through the mounting platform. The mounting platform may further include a first mounting pad and a second mounting pad.
