Wheel traction device
A wheel traction device is adapted for providing traction for a wheel of a vehicle to escape from a mud ground during rotation of the wheel, and includes: a guiding unit having a guiding portion adapted to abut against the wheel; a bearing unit that is detachably connected to the guiding unit, and that has a bearing portion adapted to be positioned on the mud ground such that, during rotation of the wheel, the bearing unit and the guiding unit are prevented from being driven by the rotation of the wheel to move relative to the mud ground, thereby allowing the wheel to roll over the bearing portion under guidance of the guiding portion; and a fastening unit that detachably fastens the bearing and guiding units together.

Sanding system comprising a protected motor
A sanding system for a rail vehicle includes a housing of a cellular wheel sluice having an inlet located at the top and an outlet located at the bottom, a pivotably mounted cellular wheel having a plurality of cells, and a motor that is coupled with the cellular wheel. The sanding system further includes a container connected to the inlet of the cellular wheel sluice for receiving brake sand, or a feed line connected to the inlet of the cellular wheel sluice for transporting brake sand, and a discharge line connected to the outlet of the cellular wheel sluice for transporting brake sand. The motor for driving the cellular wheel is thereby arranged above the inlet.

ANTI-SKID ARRANGEMENT WITH PROTECTIVE MEMBER
An anti-skid arrangement including a friction wheel with several chains intended to be thrown under a tire in order to increase friction between the tire and the ground, and an operating arm rotatably connected to the friction wheel, wherein the operating arm is adapted to be connected to the vehicle and to bring the friction wheel into frictional engagement with the tire. The anti-skid arrangement also includes a protective member having an inner part arranged around a rotation axis of the friction wheel and between the friction wheel and the operating arm, and an outer part with two side walls abutting against opposite sides of the operating arm.
The protective member prevents the chains from getting stuck between the friction wheel and the operating arm, and is simple to produce.
ANTI-SKID ARRANGEMENT FOR A VEHICLE
An anti-skid arrangement for a vehicle is disclosed. The anti-skid arrangement includes a friction wheel including a hub and a ring arranged around the hub, and a chain plate attached to the hub, wherein the chain plate includes several chains intended to be thrown under the tire in order to increase friction between the tire and the ground. The hub includes two parts clamping the ring. Further, an inner side of the ring is provided with grooves extending in a tangential direction along the ring and facing each hub part, and the two parts are provided with protrusions engaging the grooves.
The engagement between the tangential grooves and the protrusions in the hub will secure the ring firmly, even when the tread of the ring is worn down.
Locked wheel annunciation during emergency braking
An emergency braking monitoring system includes a wheel assembly having a first wheel, an emergency braking monitoring unit coupled to the wheel assembly, and a locked wheel annunciation center coupled to the emergency braking monitoring unit for annunciation purposes. The emergency braking monitoring unit generates a fault annunciation signal based on a determination as to whether a first wheel speed value originating from the first wheel of the wheel assembly is a predetermined amount less than a reference value for a persistence time.
Tire Chains Apparatus
Provided is an apparatus designed to engage tire chains on motorized vehicles when hazardous road conditions are present, including snow or ice. Moreover, the chains are designed to be deployed manually from inoperative to operative positioning by raising and lowering the apparatus handle. A rotating quick deploy chain wheel at the bottom of the apparatus throws a plurality of chains between the tire and road surface generating vehicle traction. This utility patent for tire chains will provide a cost effective, simple method for putting on and taking off snow tire chains. Existing automatic chain systems characteristically require electronics, motors or a pneumatic system. The embodiment of this apparatus is the simplicity of locking a handle and the chains are engaged. Releasing the handle and the chains are disengaged.
Vehicle tire heater and cleaner system
A front tire heating and cleaning system for a vehicle includes a brake system configured to selectively apply hydraulic braking pressure against front wheels and rear wheels of the vehicle, and a controller in signal communication with the brake system. The controller is configured to, upon receipt of a request, initiate a controlled front tire heating mode where the brake system is controlled to selectively apply hydraulic braking pressure against the rear wheels and not the front wheels, and rotate the front wheels to increase tire temperature for improved front wheel traction during off-road maneuvers.
Improvements relating to tire rims
A tire rim of a motor vehicle includes a substantially cylindrical body for holding a tire, and a hub connected to the body through radial members, and has an outer face facing, in use, the outside of the vehicle, and an opposite inner face. At least one elongate flexible element associated with the rim can reach a resting configuration within the rim, and a working configuration, extended with respect to the resting configuration, of such a length as to allow the tire to be surrounded, in which each flexible element is wound around the tire to form a snow chain. The rim includes at least one retaining member at a zone of its inner face, to be engaged by a portion of a flexible element in its working configuration.
