A pneumatic tire that specifies the tire mounting direction when mounted on a vehicle and has sufficiently improved grip performance at high-speed turning is provided in which the cap rubber layer on the outermost layer of the tread is divided in the tire width direction, the cap rubber layer located on the outside of the vehicle is formed of a rubber composition containing 25% by mass or less of styrene in the rubber component and having a glass transition temperature of −18° C. or higher, and, when the carbon black content ratio is C.sub.OUT (mass %), and the ground contact area ratio is L.sub.OUT, in the cap rubber layer located on the outside of the vehicle, and the carbon black content ratio is C.sub.IN (mass %) and the ground contact area ratio is L.sub.IN in the cap rubber layer located inside the vehicle, the following (Formula 1) and (Formula 2) are satisfied.

C.sub.IN<C.sub.OUT  (Formula 1)

0≤(C.sub.OUT×L.sub.OUT)−(C.sub.IN×L.sub.IN)  (Formula 2)

Reinforced rubber spoke for a tire

A spoke (100) for a wheel (10) attaching an outer tread (200) to a hub (20), the spoke having a first (142) and second (144) spoke elements joined by a joint body (130) comprised of an elastomer connecting the first spoke element to a second spoke element.

Tire Safety Monitoring Line Device
20230166565 · 2023-06-01 ·

The present invention relates to a novel tire safety monitoring line device which allows for automatic and continuous tire tread monitoring. The device comprises a plurality of dye-filled or paint-filled capsules embedded within the tire tread at differing tread levels. As the tire tread gets low, the capsules are exposed, breaking open and releasing the dye/paint. Thus, the colors of dye/paint released indicate differing tread levels, which alerts a user as to the tire tread level of their vehicle tire.

A pneumatic tire comprises a tread portion provided with a pair of crown main grooves and a pair shoulder main grooves to divide middle portions and shoulder portions, the tread portion having a contact surface covered with a cap rubber layer with a loss tangent of from 0.03 to 0.18, the middle portions provided with only middle lug grooves with groove widths within 2 mm, each middle lug groove extending from one end connected either the crown or shoulder main groove to the other end terminating within the middle portion, the middle lug grooves having an angle of from 40 to 55 degrees with respect to a tire circumferential direction, and each shoulder portion provided with first shoulder lateral grooves having axially inner ends connected to the shoulder main groove, wherein first shoulder lateral grooves consist of grooves having groove widths within 2 mm.

Heavy duty tire

A heavy duty tire has a carcass extending from a tread portion to a bead core in a bead portion through a sidewall portion, and a belt layer disposed on the outside of the carcass in the tire radial direction and on the inside of the tread portion. In a state in which a distance between a pair of bead heels is kept at 110% of a wheel rim width of a standard wheel rim and no inner pressure is applied, the contour shape of the tread portion is formed by a 1st circular arc having a center on the tire equatorial plane, and a pair of 2nd circular arcs, disposed on both outsides of the 1st circular arc in the tire axial direction. The radius of the 2nd circular arc is more than the radius R1 of the 1st circular arc. One 2nd circular arc has the center on the other 2nd circular arc side of the tire equator in the tire axial direction, and the other 2nd circular arc has the center on the one 2nd circular arc side of the tire equator in the tire axial direction.

When a tire is attached to a rim and set to an internal pressure of 250 kPa or more, a ratio SW/OD of the tire is 0.26 or less in the case where SW of the tire is less than 165 (mm), and SW and OD satisfy a relationship 2.135×SW+282.3≦OD in the case where SW is 165 (mm) or more. The tread rubber has dynamic storage modulus E′ of 6.0 MPa to 12.0 MPa, and loss tangent tan δ of 0.05 to 0.15. In at least one land portion, sipes are arranged with a predetermined pitch length L, and a land portion width W, a tire widthwise sipe component total length Ws of the sipes, the pitch length L, and a tire circumferential sipe component total length Ls of the sipes satisfy relationships 0.4W≦Ws≦1.2W and 0.6L≦Ls≦3L.

PNEUMATIC TIRE MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND PNEUMATIC TIRE

A pneumatic tire manufacturing method is provided in which winding collapse is prevented, there is no possibility of adverse effects on the FV, a current-carrying layer can be formed easily, and down-stitching can be dispensed with or minimized in the manufacture of SOT-structure pneumatic tires having a base-pen structure in the tread. This pneumatic tire manufacturing method involves: a step in which a sidewall, an inner liner, and a ply are bonded on a first molding drum, beads are set, and the tread side part that will form the current-carrying layer is formed on the side wall, forming a first cover; a step in which a breaker and band are bonded on a second molding drum and the tread center part is formed on the band, shaping the tread ring; a step in which the first cover is inserted inside of the tread ring and inflated to bond to the tread ring with pressure; and a step in which the sidewall is bonded to the lateral surface of the first cover, and the tread side part and the tread center part are bonded together.
