Mold for a tire with an annular insert made up of a plurality of portions

A mold for vulcanizing and molding a tire is provided herein. The tire includes a tread delimited by two sidewalls, the mold including a ring for molding the tread of the tire and two shells for molding the sidewalls. The mold includes an annular groove extending in a recessed manner in one of the shells and an insert housed in the groove, this insert having tire marking elements and being formed from a plurality of insert parts that are positioned one after another in the annular groove.

Tire structure for externally mounted device

A method of mounting an object on a tire includes providing a tire having a sidewall, wherein the sidewall includes a mounting portion configured to receive an object. The method further includes mounting the object on the mounting portion of the sidewall, such that the object is visible without extending outwardly beyond the mounting portion.

Pneumatic tire with cord layer extending close to tire outer surface

A pneumatic tire includes: an air permeation preventive layer disposed in the inner surface of the tire; a belt layer buried in a tread part; and a cord layer formed by arranging a plurality of cords. The cord layer is disposed between the air permeation preventive layer and the belt layer, and extends to a bead part side further from a tire maximum width position. At least a part of the cord layer is located close to the outer surface of the tire, at a position closer to the bead part side than the tire maximum width position, so that the distance between the cords and the outer surface of the tire is not more than 2 mm.

TIRE WITH BEAD REGIONS HAVING MULTIPLE BEAD FILLERS

A tire includes a bead portion with a bead core having a main bead filler and an auxiliary bead filler, and a carcass ply wrapped around a portion of the main bead filler. An end of the carcass ply is located axially outside the main bead filler and radially below an apex of the main bead filler. The auxiliary bead filler is located axially outside the carcass ply end, with an apex of the auxiliary bead filler being located above an apex of the main bead filler.

A pneumatic tire has paired bead portions, paired sidewall portions, a tread portion, a plurality of lug grooves extending from a shoulder area of the tread portion to reach a buttress area of the sidewall portion, and a block defined by the plurality of lug grooves. The block includes a shoulder block provided in the shoulder area, and a buttress block provided in the buttress area. The buttress area is provided with an annular rib annularly extending along a tire circumferential direction. The lug grooves are comparted into an outside lug groove positioned in an outer side of the annular rib, and an inside lug groove positioned in an inner side of the annular rib. A widened portion is provided in at least part of the plurality of lug grooves so as to enlarge a width of the annular rib.

TIRE INCLUDING AN OUTER SIDEWALL THAT COMPRISES AN INCOMPATIBLE POLYMER

A tire is provided with an external sidewall, said external sidewall comprising at least one elastomeric composition based on: (a) an elastomeric matrix comprising at least one diene elastomer, (b) a crosslinking system, and (c) at least one polymer incompatible with the elastomeric matrix. A process for the preparation of an elastomeric composition for an external sidewall is also disclosed.

PNEUMATIC TIRE MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND PNEUMATIC TIRE

A pneumatic tire manufacturing method is provided in which raw cover molding is suitably performed with no, or a minimal amount of, down-stitching in the manufacture of SOT-structure pneumatic tires; also provided is a pneumatic tire. This pneumatic tire manufacturing method involves: a step in which a sidewall, an inner liner, and a ply are bonded on a first molding drum, a pair of beads is set, and the tread side part is formed on the side wall, forming a first cover; a step in which a breaker and band are bonded on a second molding drum and the tread center part is formed on the band, shaping the tread ring; a step in which the first cover is inserted inside of the tread ring and the first cover is inflated, bonding the tread ring and the first cover with pressure; and a step in which the sidewall is folded back towards the lateral surface of the inflated first cover and bonded to the lateral surface of the first cover, and the tread side part and the tread center part are bonded together.

A pneumatic tire includes a surface and is rotatable about a center axis. The surface of the pneumatic tire includes a ground colored region including a surface of rubber, and an image recognition belt region including a colored region provided in a circumferential direction of the center axis.

TIRE

At least one mark in the form of a character or a figure and a surface geometry arrangement region can be disposed on a surface of a sidewall portion. The surface geometry arrangement region can include a first region formed adjacent to the mark outside the mark. The first region can have a plurality of first micro projections disposed therein. The first region can extend radially from a vanishing point on the surface of the sidewall portion toward the mark so as to allow the mark to be stereoscopically viewed.

TIRE

At least one mark formed by a character or a figure and a surface geometry arrangement region disposed adjacent to the mark outside the mark can be formed on a surface of a sidewall portion of a tire. The surface geometry arrangement region can have a plurality of micro projections. The surface geometry arrangement region can include a first region formed in at least a part of the surface geometry arrangement region such that the greater a distance from the mark is, the less a height of the micro projection can be.
