TRANSPORTATION TRAILER WITH SPACE FRAME
20200055548 · 2020-02-20 ·

Systems and methods for transporting small, dense cargo over roadways via a specialized transportation trailer are provided. The disclosed transportation trailer includes a space frame including a lower central portion designed to directly receive and support the cargo that is being carried by the trailer, as well as an upper portion that extends above the height of the cargo. The space frame also includes lower side portions that extend longitudinally in opposite directions from the lower central portion to connect the space frame to the wheels and trailer hookup of the transportation trailer. The space frame may further include a truss structure formed between the lower central portion and the upper portion to increase the rigidity of the trailer. The transportation trailer is designed to minimize the height of the cargo's center of gravity, increase trailer rigidity, increase cargo capacity, and maximize ground clearance compared to existing trailer designs.

A conveying device according to the present invention includes a first connection mechanism provided on an upper surface, a base member provided on the upper surface, a sliding mechanism that relatively and slidably moves the position of the first connection mechanism relative to the base member on the slide axis, and a traveling mechanism that makes the conveying device travel. The first connection mechanism has an over-riding portion provided on the slide axis, and a connection part connected with the object to he conveyed. The over-riding portion is in an over-riding state of over-riding an upper surface of the base member when the sliding mechanism slidably moves the position of the first connection mechanism relative to the base member. The connection part performs a lifting operation to be connected with the object to be conveyed when the over-riding portion is in the over-riding state.

The first connection mechanism is connected with a carriage at a predetermined connection position. The sliding mechanism slidably moves the first connection mechanism between the connection position and a predetermined conveyance position spaced away from the connection position on the slide axis in a state in which the first connection mechanism is connected with the carriage. The traveling mechanism makes the conveying device travel in a state in which the first connection mechanism is positioned in the conveyance position.

Cart coupling assembly

Various embodiments described herein relate to a sortation conveyer system including a cart coupling assembly for coupling two adjacent carts. The cart coupling assembly includes a coupling disc having a control slot, a bearing slot, and one or more arcuately shaped mounting slots. The coupling disc is mounted on a cart such that, upon rotation of the coupling disc, a control slot cavity defined by the control slot slidably moves about a position register screw along the control slot cavity, and a cavity defined by a respective mounting slot slidably moves relative to a respective mounting pin received in the mounting slot. Cavities defined by the control slot facilitate a continual translation of a center of rotation of the coupling disc linearly, to adjust a gap between the two carts. The control slot includes position registers that restrict a sliding movement of the control slot cavity.

Modular internally activated trailer tongue assembly

A trailer tongue assembly includes a tongue body, a ball clamp, an actuating device, and a control unit. The tongue body is coupled to a frame and includes a ball socket that defines a socket volume. The ball clamp is located within the tongue body and translates internally within the tongue body so as to selectively protrude into and out of the socket volume. The actuating device is in communication with the ball clamp and is configured to position the ball clamp within the socket volume. The control unit is in communication with the actuating device and is configured to regulate the operation of the actuating device. In all, the tongue body surrounds the ball clamp, the actuating device and the control unit.

Trailer hitch with safety arm
10471784 · 2019-11-12 ·

A trailer hitch with safety arm preferably includes a ball mount member, a hitch insert projection and a safety arm. The ball mount member preferably includes a ball leg and an insert leg. The ball leg extends forward and substantially horizontal from a bottom of the insert leg. A hitch ball hole is formed through the ball leg to receive a hitch ball. The hitch insert projection extends rearward and substantially horizontal from the insert leg. The hitch insert projection is preferably a square tube that has an outer perimeter, which is sized to be received by a female hitch receiver. A safety yoke is formed on an upper and front portion of the insert leg. The safety arm is retained in the yoke with a removable fastener and a quick release pin device. The safety arm pivots relative to the insert leg with the removable fastener.
