20240308653 · 2024-09-19 ·

A wingless vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) vehicle has a main body including airfoil sections on either side of a central module in which a load may be carried. Articulated forward thrust systems are mounted on a leading edge of the main body and lateral members are located on either side of the main body and form winglets. At least one rear vertical-thrust system may also be provided and, in one embodiment, is mounted in an aperture aft of the central module. The forward thrust systems transition between a vertical flight configuration and a horizontal flight configuration. The lateral members are configured as both vortex-damping members and also to channel backwash from the forward thrust systems over the airfoil formed by the main body.

ROBUST AMPHIBIOUS AIRCRAFT

A robust amphibious air vehicle incorporates a fuselage with buoyant stabilizers and wings extending from the fuselage. At least one lift fan is mounted in the fuselage. Movable propulsion units carried by the wings are rotatable through a range of angles adapted for vertical and horizontal flight operations.

DUAL-MODE VEHICLE WITH WHEEL ROTORS
20180257447 · 2018-09-13 ·

A dual-mode vehicle, wheels for the vehicle, and a method of transitioning the vehicle from a land mode to a flight mode. In the land mode, the method includes rotating a pair of spaced wheel arms about a central pivot to lower a body of the dual-mode vehicle to a ground surface. Each wheel arm extends from the central pivot to a wheel. The method also includes rotating the central pivot about a longitudinal vehicle axis to raise the wheel arms and the wheels above the ground surface. After raising the wheel arms and wheels above the ground surface, the method includes rotating the wheel arms about the central pivot to position the wheels for use as rotors in the flight mode. In the flight mode, the method includes rotating the wheels in order to extract rotor blades positioned within the wheels to extend beyond the wheels.

Multi-functional vehicle autonomously operable under multi-terrain conditions

A completely transparent spherical body is surrounded externally by a plurality of leaf plates arranged in equal spacing along a main outer ring rack of the spherical body. Two rubber tires are included to wrap the spherical body. A rider inside the spherical body pedals to rotate the spherical body forward. A vehicle having the spherical body can be autonomously operated to move on land or water, and in the air. In addition, to operate this vehicle, no specific road or environmental requirement is needed, and no other obstacle, even a traffic accident can stop its movement.

ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE

An all-terrain vehicle configured to be propelled by an endless loop track and a suspension system therefore comprises first and second lower suspension rails pivotally attached to one another at a central pivot. First, second and third suspension supports are provided, each comprising a resilient element and a suspension strut, the suspension strut having an upper end pivotally connected to the frame and a lower end. The lower end of the suspension strut of the first suspension support is pivotally connected to the first lower suspension rail. The lower end of the suspension strut of the third suspension support is pivotally connected to the second lower suspension rail. The lower end of the suspension strut of the second suspension support is pivotally connected to the first lower suspension rail, the second lower suspension rail or the first and second lower suspension rails proximal the central pivot. This configuration advantageously provides improved driving dynamics for the vehicle when operated in rough terrain.

Vehicle Capable of Multiple Varieties of Locomotion
20180117980 · 2018-05-03 ·

A vehicle capable of multiple varieties of locomotion having a main body; a plurality of motors and blades providing flying capability; each motor being associated with and powering a blade assembly; two legs extending from opposing sides of the main body creating a ground propulsion system. The ground propulsion system having two legs; each leg connected to a track body at the opposing leg end; each track body comprised of a plurality of drive gears; each track body connected to and retaining a track providing ground propulsion. The vehicle can either drive or fly based on its base structure, in additional to carrying a payload. The payload is carried below the main body of the vehicle and between the tracks or running gear. When the vehicle is in flight, the tracks are able to rotate up into a fly/flight mode to protect the blades during flight.

Mobile platform

A mobile platform intended for civilian, industrial, research or other use. An ambulation system or mobile platform such as for traveling over uneven terrain includes one or more leg arrangements attached to a main body or chassis. In an embodiment, a leg arrangement comprises one or more legs, such as legs that rotate in the same and singular direction around their respective rotary joints when the vehicle is moving in a single direction. The rotational axis for both legs is located near each other and preferably coaxially and allows ground contact of two or more legs at all times.
