Snowmobile

A snowmobile comprises a plurality of ground engaging members, a frame supported by the ground engaging members, and a powertrain assembly supported by the frame. The snowmobile further comprises a rear suspension assembly supported by the frame which includes a plurality of slide rails, at least one linear force element operably coupled to the slide rails, and at least one rear idler wheel operably coupled to the slide rails with a rear shaft. The rear shaft is operably coupled to the slide rails with a single fastener received into one end of the rear shaft.

The present invention relates to a motor vehicle with at least one chassis component (1). To improve the safety of the passenger cell in the event of a frontal collision, the connection has a separating device that brings about separation of the attachment of the pivot bearing to the spring strut and to the body of the vehicle at the upper bearing in the event of a frontal impact.

On at least one surface of a structural part, on all or part of a hollow section between outer and inner peripheral borders, is associated at least one cover sheet made of rigid metallic material. The at least one cover sheet is mechanically fixed with the edge of the peripheral borders of the structural part, and covers all or part of inner cavities formed on open sides of the part. The at least one cover sheet has a triple function: to increase the rigidity of the structural part, to absorb shock by deforming in a plane while remaining integral with the part, and to allow reduction of the mass of the structural part and optimization of the mass/performance ratio.

Single-shell spring control arm

The invention relates to a single-shell spring control arm formed of sheet metal for a wheel suspension of a motor vehicle, with upwardly directed side limbs connected to one another by a base, with a first end section for connection to a chassis girder, with a second end section for wheel-side connection, with a spring receiving section, which is located between the two end sections and has a spring support surface formed on the base, and with a damper receiving section formed between the spring receiving section and the second end section for connecting a shock absorber. In order to achieve at relatively low component weight and favorable manufacturing costs improved stiffness with respect to high axle loads, the invention provides that a U-shaped constriction is formed between the spring support surface and the damper receiving section, which constriction extends in the base and in the side limbs.

The present invention provides a wide angle joint including: a pair of yoke shafts mounted on opposite sides thereof to transmit power from the one side to the opposite side, each yoke shaft having a ball end portion provided on a first yoke part to which a spider is coupled; a plate having a large-diameter part formed in the middle thereof and protruding parts protruding from the large-diameter part in the opposite axial directions while being reduced in a radially inward direction, wherein the protruding parts have insertion recesses into which the ball end portions of the yoke shafts are inserted, and the large-diameter part is faulted to have different widths in radial directions from the central portion thereof; and a pair of coupling yokes, each of which has a second yoke part connected with the first yoke part through the spider and a support recess into which the large-diameter part of the plate is inserted.

An axle arrangement is provided having a wheel carrier with fastening arms. By placement of an assembly opening in the fastening arm in a motor vehicle transverse direction (Y), it is possible to fix the track width with the use of identical parts.

Support link arm

The disclosure relates to an elongate link arm member of a support link arm. A ball joint socket is disposed on a first longitudinal and of the link arm member. The link arm member in a sheet-metal shell construction mode is formed from sheet metal and has a cavity portion. The ball joint socket is a forging or casting from metal and possesses a fastening appendage which is configured in a materially integral manner so as to be in one piece with said ball joint socket. The ball joint socket by way of the fastening appendage engages in the cavity portion of the link arm member and is joined to the link arm member.

Adjustable ball joint coupling

An apparatus is described for interconnecting a steering knuckle and lower suspension arm. The apparatus includes a ball joint assembly having a lateral adjustment feature that allows for increased range of adjustment.
