Axle alignment system
09744808 · 2017-08-29 · ·

An axle alignment system for an axle assembly. The axle alignment system may include a bracket assembly and an alignment plate. The alignment plate may be moveably disposed on the bracket assembly with one or more fasteners that may move along one or more slots that may be provided with the bracket assembly and/or the alignment plate.

Damping air spring and shock absorber combination for heavy-duty vehicle axle/suspension systems

A damping air spring and shock absorber combination for heavy-duty vehicle axle/suspension systems includes a damping air spring and a shock absorber both operatively attached to the axle/suspension system. The damping air spring primarily provides damping to the axle/suspension system over a first range of frequencies. The shock absorber primarily provides damping to the axle/suspension system over a second range of frequencies. The first range of frequencies is from about 0.0 Hz to about 6.0 Hz and the second range of frequencies is from about 0.0 Hz to about 13.0 Hz.

SPINDLE SYSTEM FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT CORRECTION
20170240206 · 2017-08-24 ·

A spindle sleeve and washer for adjusting the camber, toe, or thrust angle of a vehicle wheel to a desired predetermined angle which allows for use of existing hub and spindle assembly without permanent modification to the vehicle.

DAMPING AIR SPRING WITH DYNAMICALLY VARIABLE ORIFICE
20170241504 · 2017-08-24 ·

An air spring for a heavy-duty vehicle includes a bellows chamber, a piston chamber, and at least one opening. The piston chamber is operatively connected to the bellows chamber. The at least one opening is in fluid communication with the bellows chamber and the piston chamber to provide fluid communication between the bellows chamber and the piston chamber. An orifice assembly is disposed adjacent the at least one opening for variably changing the size of the opening. The air spring provides damping to the heavy-duty vehicle.

REMOVABLE AXLE ASSEMBLY
20170232810 · 2017-08-17 · ·

A removable axle assembly for transporting a load bearing frame includes an axle mounting structure configured to be removably attached to an axle mount. The axle mounting structure includes an inner surface that is aligned with a tapered surface of the axle mount. One or more fastening devices are attached to a clamping structure. In response to securing the one or more fastening devices, the clamping structure is configured to exert a compression force that maintains contact between the tapered surface of the frame support structure and the inner surface of the axle mounting structure.

ARTICULATING MULTI-AXLE ASSEMBLY
20170232811 · 2017-08-17 · ·

An axle assembly for transporting a load bearing frame includes a first axle operably coupled to an axle mount of the load bearing frame by a first articulation structure, and a second axle spaced a distance from the first axle and operably coupled to the axle mount by a second articulation structure. The first articulation structure is rotationally coupled to the axle mount by a first articulation connection, and the second articulation structure is rotationally coupled to the axle mount by a second articulation connection. A suspension system is operably coupled to both the first articulation structure and the second articulation structure. In a first mode of operation, the suspension system forms a substantially rigid connection between the first articulation structure and the second articulation structure. In response to an upward articulation of the first articulation structure towards the load bearing frame, the substantially rigid connection causes the second articulation structure to articulate down and away from the load bearing frame. In a second mode of operation, the suspension system articulates both the first articulation structure and the second articulation structure towards the load bearing frame.

A portal axle arrangement 1 for a motor vehicle includes at least one portal housing 2 and at least one suspension arm 5, 6. The at least one portal housing 2 includes a receiving section 7 for a portal gear and at least one connecting section 8, 9 for the at least one suspension arm 5, 6, in which the at least one connecting section 8, 9 is designed as a support section. A motor vehicle including such a portal axle arrangement is also provided.

HYDRAULIC STABILIZING UNIT FOR STEER AXLES
20170217486 · 2017-08-03 ·

The present invention relates to a new hydraulic stabilizing unit that can be mounted onto any self-steering axle assembly that utilises a pneumatic stabilizing system. The hydraulic stabilizer works in conjunction with the pneumatic stabilizer to eliminate a “dead zone” of the pneumatic system to avoid wheel shimmy and hop conditions associated with out of specification caster angles on the axle.
