Human Graspable Propulsion Device
The invention is directed to a graspable human propulsion device comprising a primary pole, a lateral pole affixed to the fore end of the primary pole, and a ducted fan assembly affixed to one end the primary pole and configured to accelerate airflow along the longitudinal axis of the primary pole. A user wields the graspable human propulsion device by grasping the primary pole with a first hand and the lateral pole with a second hand. The graspable human propulsion device acts to propel the user along the direction in which the longitudinal axis of the primary pole is pointed. This device is intended to be utilized by a user mounted on a personal transportation apparatus, such as a skateboard. In one embodiment the user controls the amount of thrust by use of a throttle lever mechanism. In another embodiment the user controls the direction and amount of thrust by use of a knobbed slide potentiometer. In a third embodiment the user controls the direction and amount of thrust by use of a twist throttle mechanism. The graspable human propulsion device of the present invention provides a conveniently balanced, easily wielded, and enjoyable propulsive experience for the user.
POWERTRAIN FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A powertrain for a motor vehicle includes at least one electrical machine having a stator and a rotor that is rotatable relative to the stator and at least one driveshaft, via which at least one wheel of the motor vehicle can be driven by the electrical machine. At least one longitudinal region of the driveshaft, which has at least one joint, is arranged in the rotor and surrounded by the rotor at least in the circumferential direction of the driveshaft.
Graspable Human Propulsion Device
The invention is directed to a graspable human propulsion device which contains a ducted fan assembly on the aft portion of a longitudinal structure which the user grasps onto, which acts to propel the user along the longitudinal direction of the device while the user is mounted on a human transportation apparatus, such as a skateboard. The user can orient the device so that the ducted fan assembly leads ahead or trails behind the user, according to user preference. In one embodiment, the user controls the direction and amount of thrust by use of a spring twist throttle mechanism. In another embodiment, the user controls the direction and amount of thrust by use of a trigger and switch mechanism. The fore latch and the aft latch allow the user to clamp the device onto a skateboard deck for ease in transporting while on foot.
Fuel cell stack and mount structure therefor
A second end plate constituting a fuel cell stack is provided with a cooling medium supply manifold member and a cooling medium discharge manifold member. The second end plate is also provided with a mount member that affixes the fuel cell stack to an automobile body frame and covers the cooling medium discharge manifold member.
RESILIENT POWER DEVICE
A resilient power device is adapted to drive a transmission rod of a vehicle, and includes a housing, a rotary shaft adapted to extend and be spaced apart from the transmission rod along a first axis, a power release unit including a first rod and a second rod that extend and are spaced apart from each other along a second axis parallel to the first axis, a power storage clutch adapted to be connected between the transmission rod and the rotary shaft, a power release clutch connected between the first and second rods, a first gear unit mounted to the first rod and the transmission rod, a second gear unit mounted to the rotary shaft and said second rod, and at least one resilient member connected between the housing and the rotary shaft.
VEHICLE
A vehicle includes an electric load, a first battery electrically connected to the electric load, a second battery electrically connected to the electric load in parallel with the first battery, the second battery being closer to a center of the vehicle than the first battery in a top view of the vehicle, a switch configured to electrically disconnect solely the first battery of the first battery and the second battery from the electric load, and a controller configured to open the switch based on detection of a collision of the vehicle or detection of an abnormality of the first battery.
