Shifter assembly

A shifter assembly selects a first mode and a second mode of a transmission for a vehicle. The shifter assembly includes a housing and a shift lever movably coupled to the housing and pivotable relative to the housing. The shift lever includes a body and a cap defining an aperture and being coupled to the body. The cap is rotatable relative to the body between a first and a second orientations. The shift lever further includes a toggle device partially received by the cap in the aperture with at least a portion of the toggle device being moveably coupled to the body between a rest and a depressed positions. The shift lever further includes an element mounted to the toggle device and rotatable with the cap between the first and the second orientations. The shift lever further includes a sensor system configured to interact with the element to detect rotation of the cap between the first and the second orientations.

Shifter with electromagnetic park lock system

A park lock system for a shifter of an automatic transmission, according to one embodiment, includes a blocking member pivotal between a locked position to prevent movement of the shifter and an unlocked position for allowing movement of the shifter. At least a portion of the blocking member may include hard magnetic properties, such as having a permanent magnet coupled therewith. An electromagnet may have a core member proximate the magnetic portion of the blocking member to cause the blocking member to move to or remain in the locked position when the electromagnet is de-energized. Accordingly, when the electromagnet is energized, the electromagnet may be configured to generate a magnetic field in repelling polarity to the magnetic portion that causes the blocking member to move to the unlocked position.

A shift control apparatus of a manual transmission, which is capable of limiting shifting to a low gear at a high speed may be provided. The shift control apparatus of a manual transmission includes: a shift lever 100 including a rod; a shift lock limiting the movement of the rod; and a controller which compares a speed of a vehicle with a predetermined critical speed of a predetermined gear and controls the shift lock. When the speed of the vehicle is greater than the critical speed, the controller prevents down shifting into a predetermined gear.

An electric vehicle includes: an electric motor; a wheel that is driven by the electric motor; a power transmission mechanism that defines at least a part of a power transmission path between the electric motor and the wheel and that transmits rotational power of the electric motor to the wheel; a wheel brake that is provided on the wheel; an electromagnetic brake that stops rotation of the electric motor; and a controller that maintains a control value of a rotation speed of the electric motor at 0 and activates the electromagnetic brake when a vehicle speed becomes lower than or equal to a predetermined value close to 0.

Selector

A selector includes a lever guide, an operating lever, and a stopper. The lever guide has first and second movable-path slits therein. The first movable-path slit extends from a first position to a second position along a first direction. The second movable-path slit extends along a second direction different from the first direction as to intersect the first movable-path slit at an intersection position. The second movable-path includes a third position. The operating lever is movable in along the first and second movable-path slits. The operating lever is configured to move to the first position through the first and second movable-path slits. The stopper slides and contacts the operating lever when the operating lever moves from the third position to the first position. The stopper slides and contacts the operating lever when the operating lever moves from the first position to the third position. The stopper opens and closes an opening-and-closing target path out of the first movable-path slit between the second position and the intersection position in conjunction with a movement of the operating lever.

Gear shift lever assembly

A gear shift lever assembly includes a gear shift lever arm which includes a distal foot-peg end and a bifurcated proximal end and first passageway for facilitating securement of the gear shift lever arm to a gear selector spindle shaft of a motorcycle. The assembly also includes a spindle shaft mount insert sized to fit within the bifurcated ends of the gear shift lever arm. The insert has a splined aperture that matches the splines of the splines of the gear selector spindle shaft, and a second passageway having a longitudinal axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the splined aperture. The gear shift lever assembly is mountable to the gear selector spindle shaft of the motorcycle with the spindle shaft mount insert interposed between the bifurcated proximal end of the gear shift lever arm with a mounting bolt passed through the aligned first and second passageways.

Shift lever apparatus and control method thereof

A shift lever apparatus is provided and includes an operating part having fastening pins extracted therefrom and inserted thereinto, based on a signal input. A select lever part is coupled to a shift lever that rotates based on a shift pattern to rotate along with the shift lever. Additionally, the shift lever corresponds to a position of a shift stage based on the shift pattern and includes a plurality of insertion apertures into which the fastening pins are inserted. The fastening pins selectively permit or limit the rotation of the shift lever based on whether the fastening pins are inserted into the plurality of insertion apertures.

A gearbox of a power unit includes a transmission, a shift drum provided with lead grooves, a shift drum feed mechanism, and a drive side-shift fork and driven side-shift forks respectively provided with engaging portions to be engaged with the lead grooves. At least one lead groove is a common lead groove with which the engaging portion of the drive side-shift fork and the engaging portion of the driven side-shift fork are engaged at an angular interval, which is a positive multiple integral of a feed angle of the shift drum, with respect to a rotation center of the shift drum. The drive side-shift fork and driven side-shift fork, whose engaging portions are engaged with the common lead groove, are guided by the same axially shifted groove portions provided in the common lead groove, and thereby establish speeds of the transmission.
