A control apparatus of a straddle vehicle includes: a prediction section that determines whether a rider of the straddle vehicle intends to turn the straddle vehicle and predicts whether turning of the straddle vehicle will occur, based on information related to at least one of a predetermined behavior exhibited by a vehicle body of the straddle vehicle before turning and a predetermined driving operation performed by the rider; and a vehicle control section that provides driving assistance during turning of the straddle vehicle based on a result of the prediction made by the prediction section.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A THROTTLE SIGNAL
A system for controlling a throttle signal, as well as methods of assembling the same, is provided. Controlling the throttle signal includes activating a supply of power to an electronic control unit (ECU). A first throttle signal associated with a throttle position signal of a vehicle throttle is communicated. An initial gear state of the vehicle is determined. Based on the initial gear state of the vehicle, a modified throttle signal to the ECU is communicated in response to receiving a command signal. Based on determining a change in the gear state of the vehicle, terminating the communication of the modified throttle signal. A second throttle signal that is associated with a second throttle position signal of the vehicle throttle is communicated.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A THROTTLE SIGNAL
A system for controlling a throttle signal, as well as methods of assembling the same, is provided. Controlling the throttle signal includes activating a supply of power to an electronic control unit (ECU). A first throttle signal associated with a throttle position signal of a vehicle throttle is communicated. An initial gear state of the vehicle is determined. Based on the initial gear state of the vehicle, a modified throttle signal to the ECU is communicated in response to receiving a command signal. Based on determining a change in the gear state of the vehicle, terminating the communication of the modified throttle signal. A second throttle signal that is associated with a second throttle position signal of the vehicle throttle is communicated.
Object detection apparatus and object detection method
An object detection apparatus acquires a lateral position which is a relative position of a target to the own vehicle, and determines that a first target is present, as the target, ahead of the own vehicle and that a second target is present between the first target and the own vehicle. The object detection apparatus determines, based on the lateral position of the first target and a limiting value which indicates a width in the lateral direction, whether the first target is present on a traveling course of the own vehicle. The object detection apparatus sets the limiting value such that when the second target is not present, sets as the limiting value, a predetermined reference value, and when the second target is present, sets as the limiting value, a value different from the reference value.

A vehicle control device obtains, a relative distance of an object to an own vehicle in the travel direction of the own vehicle and a lateral position that is a relative location of the object to the own vehicle in a lateral direction orthogonal to the travel direction. The vehicle control device sets a limit value indicating the lateral width of a determination region for determining whether or not the object is present in the traveling path of the own vehicle. The vehicle control device determines, on the basis of the lateral position of the object and the limit value for the determination region, whether or not the object is present in the traveling path of the own vehicle. The vehicle control device extends the determination region width by correcting the limit value when the object is a vehicle and the relative distance is less than a predetermined distance.
Vehicle operation with interchangeable drive modules
Vehicles may be composed of a relatively few number of modules that are assembled together during a final assembly process. An example vehicle may include a body module, a first drive module coupled to a first end of the body module, and a second drive module coupled to a second end of the body module. One or both of the drive modules may include a pair of wheels, a battery, an electric drive motor, and/or a heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. One or both of the drive modules may also include a crash structure to absorb impacts. If a component of a drive module fails or is damaged, the drive module can be quickly and easily replaced with a new drive module, minimizing vehicle down time.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE
A control system for a four-wheel drive vehicle configured to improve energy efficiency by avoiding selection of a four-wheel drive mode more than necessary. The control system comprises a controller that shifts an operating mode between a two-wheel drive mode and a four-wheel drive mode. When a control of the prime mover is terminated, the controller detects the operating mode selected by a switch before restarting the control of the prime mover. If the two-wheel drive mode or the four-wheel drive mode was selected by the switch before restarting the control of the prime mover, the controller selects the two-wheel drive mode when restarting the control of the prime mover.
