Kerbside vehicle charger
A charging apparatus for a vehicle where a terminal (1, FIG. 2) is connected to at least one kerbside power/data unit (9) to provide a power (4) and a data connection (5) to the power/data unit (9), the power/data unit (9) being connected to a nearby vehicle (17) to provide power to charge the vehicle (17) and receive data from the vehicle (17). The fact that the kerbside power/data unit (9) can charge a vehicle (17) using power supplied from a terminal (1, FIG. 2) and can transmit data from the vehicle (17) to the terminal (1, FIG. 2) provides the power and data requirements for connected autonomous vehicles at a kerbside location.
Method for controlling an exchange power between a charging infrastructure and an electricity supply grid
A method for controlling an exchange of power between a charging infrastructure and an electricity supply grid is provided. A number of power units are formed as electric vehicle. Each power unit has a variable state of charge. From the individual states of charge of the power units, an overall state of charge can be determined. For the overall state of charge, a flexibility range in dependence on time can be predefined for a control time period. The flexibility range is spanned by a progression over time of an upper limit of the overall state of charge and a progression over time of a lower limit of the overall state of charge for the control time period. The flexibility range has range points which can be defined by a value of the overall state of charge and a point in time in the control time period.
Bidirectional vehicle to load charging communication
The present solution can execute a handshake process to establish a bidirectional session utilizing communications that can be implemented on EVs and chargers from various manufacturers. The present solution relates to a charger that can execute a handshake process communication between the charger and an electric vehicle to establish a session for bidirectional power delivery between the charger and the electric vehicle via a power cable. The charger can transmit, in the handshake process to the electric vehicle, a data structure comprising a field for a minimum current with a value for the field that is less than zero. The charger can configure, subsequent to transmission of the data structure comprising the value for the minimum current, the session for bidirectional power delivery between the charger and the electric vehicle via the power cable.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POWER TRANSFER FROM A GRID TO A VEHICLE
A method for controlling power transfer from a grid to a rechargeable energy storage system, RESS, and/or an auxiliary load of the vehicle, via at least one intermediate power transfer component. The method comprises providing predicted operational information of the vehicle, the predicted operational information comprising a connected time period in which the vehicle is connected to the grid, providing component data comprising power transfer characteristic of the intermediate power transfer component, the component data including at least the critical temperature limit of the intermediate power transfer component, transferring power from the grid to the RESS and/or from the grid to the auxiliary load of the vehicle according to a power transfer model, such that the temperature of the intermediate power transfer component is kept at least below the critical temperature limit.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING POWER TO A PLATFORM MODULE
A platform module having switchable power for a vehicle including a movable member capable of achieving multiple positions and a position sensor. The movable member includes a plurality of ports configured to provide power. The position sensor is configured to detect a position of the movable member. A first port from the plurality of ports is configured to provide power when the movable member is in a first position; and a second port from the plurality of ports is configured to provide power in response to detecting that the movable member is in a second position. Further, a method is provided for switching power to the platform module.
SUPPORT SERVER, DISASTER SUPPORT SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A support server includes a processor configured to: acquire a total supply power amount from each of a plurality of facilities placed within a stricken area, the total supply power amount being obtained by adding respective supply power amounts of a plurality of power supply vehicles configured to perform power supply; acquire, from at least one vehicle placed within the stricken area, a supply power amount suppliable by the at least one vehicle; and output, to at least either one of the at least one vehicle and a communications device associated with the at least one vehicle, request facility information on a request facility that requires to request power supply due to a shortage of electric power, based on respective total supply power amounts of the facilities and the supply power amount suppliable by the at least one vehicle.

CHARGING AND DISCHARGING APPARATUS AND POWER TRANSMISSION METHOD THEREOF
A charging and discharging apparatus includes a communication module and a conversion module. The communication module is communicatively connected to a BMS and is configured to, in response to the apparatus being in a first energy transmission mode and the BMS not supporting a specific discharging protocol, perform first communication with the BMS based on a universal charging protocol. One side of the conversion module is connected to a battery and another side of the conversion module is connected to an alternating current side connecting structure. The conversion module is configured to convert direct current provided by the battery into alternating current and transmit the alternating current to the alternating current side connecting structure during the first communication. The first energy transmission mode is a mode in which the battery transmits power to the alternating current side connecting structure of the apparatus.
CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND HOME ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS
Responsive to indication that a predicted amount of solar or wind power from a power generating event will exceed a power storage capability of one or more power storage devices configured to receive the solar or wind power, controllers may command the one or more power storage devices to discharge energy to a power grid before the power generating event such that the power storage capability of the one or more power storage devices increases.
