Hand lift system for positioning a wheel and tire to be placed on a vehicle hub
10589569 · 2020-03-17 ·

A hand lift system for positioning a wheel and tire to be placed on a vehicle hub, the system being made up of two primary components. A first paddle component provides a shovel shaped lever to be placed under the tire to be lifted up to the vehicle hub, with a handle grip to operate the lever arm. A second component provides a solid wedge chock on which the paddle component is placed to act as a fulcrum to the paddle component lever, or to act as a support once the tire is lifted to the appropriate height. The paddle component doubles as a tool for shifting the spare tire or flat tire into place. The chock component doubles as a wheel block for either a tire still on the vehicle or a spare tire that has been rolled to the side of the vehicle for use.

COLLAPSIBLE WARNING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EMITTING A LIGHT SIGNAL

The present disclosure concerns a warning device comprising a warning body having a longitudinal axis and comprising a light-emitting assembly; and a collapsible stand configurable in a compacted configuration and in a warning configuration in which the light-emitting assembly is at least partially visible. The collapsible stand comprises a handle sleeve mounted to and slidable along the warning body and legs pivotably mounted to the handle sleeve, the legs being juxtaposed against the warning body when the collapsible stand is in the compacted configuration to cover the warning body and the legs extending outwardly and downwardly when the collapsible stand is in the warning configuration, the collapsible stand being configurable between the compacted configuration and the warning configuration by sliding the handle sleeve along the warning body. The disclosure also concerns a warning assembly comprising such a warning device and a method of emitting a warning light signal.

Driving mechanism and self-propelled warning device using the same

A self-propelled warning device used for road safety includes a bracket, a warning sign mounted to an upper side of the bracket, and at least one driving mechanism. The driving mechanism includes a supporting leg, a driving unit, and a wheel. The supporting leg includes a receiving portion, the receiving portion defines an accommodating space. The driving unit is accommodated in the accommodating space. The wheel is mounted on the receiving portion and is drivingly connected to the driving unit. The wheel is driven by friction of the driving unit. The driving mechanism is also disclosed.

A roadside unit comprises a communication unit and a controller. The communication unit wirelessly communicates with a vehicle. The controller: (i) obtains size information indicating a size of the vehicle; (ii) determines, based on the size information, whether the size is larger than a reference value; and (iii) transmits predetermined information to the vehicle through the communication unit when determining that the size is larger than the reference value.

A portable lamp includes an illumination module, a shaft supporting the illumination module, a base module configured to support the shaft and the illumination module; and a power module, including an electrical power source and a cable configured to connect to the power source, the power module electrically coupled to the illumination module.

Roadway worker safety system and methods of warning

Systems and methods are disclosed for reliable detection of oncoming trains and for warning roadway personnel working on the railroad track of the oncoming train. A train detection system includes a wireless communication network further including train detection modules attached to catenary poles along the sides of the railroad track. Each train detection module is equipped with at least two diverse sensors configured to detect trains and other on-track vehicles. Each train detection sensor is simultaneously active and works with other train detection sensors to detect an approaching train and generate train alerts. The train alerts are transmitted wirelessly over the wireless communication network by the train detection modules. The system transmits train alerts to personal alert devices worn by roadway workers. The personal alert device forms an ad-hoc wireless network with the train detection modules.
