Embodiments of the disclosure provide a system for predicting onset of sleep. The system includes a user worn device that includes a plurality of primary sensors to collect a plurality of primary data of a user, a first processor, in communication with the primary sensors, to receive the data and further process the data, wherein the processor determines an onset of sleep data in the user, a first communications module, in communication with the processor, transmits the onset of sleep data, a secondary device, that collects secondary data of the user, a secondary processor, that receives the onset sleep data from the first communications module and secondary data from the at least one secondary sensor, and combines the received onset sleep data and the secondary data to determine whether an onset of sleep event is possible and warn the user about the onset of sleep event.

Apparatus and method for controlling door opening

A door opening control apparatus and a door opening control method thereof are provided. The door opening control apparatus includes a recognizer configured to recognize a surrounding obstacle based on sensor recognition information received from a plurality of sensors, a determiner configured to calculate a maximum opening angle of a door for preventing collision with the recognized surrounding obstacle and to determine a risk of collision between the door and the surrounding obstacle based on the calculated maximum opening angle, and a controller configured to control an opening angle of the door to prevent the door from colliding with the surrounding obstacle when determining that the risk of collision is present.

Techniques for detecting acknowledgment from a driver of a vehicle

Disclosed embodiments include techniques for providing alerts to a driver of a vehicle. The techniques include detecting a condition that exceeds a threshold hazard potential; detecting a predetermined gesture of a driver, the predetermined gesture indicating that the driver has acknowledged the detected condition; in response to detecting the predetermined gesture, reducing an urgency level for alerting the driver of the detected condition; and determining whether to issue an alert to the driver based on the reduced urgency level.

ACCELERATOR PEDAL SYSTEM

An accelerator pedal system includes a pedal lever, a lock mechanism, an actuator, and an ECU. The pedal lever operates according to a step-on operation. The lock mechanism can restrict an operation of the pedal lever. The actuator switches between a locked state in which the operation of the pedal lever is restricted by the lock mechanism and an unlocked state in which the operation of the pedal lever is not restricted. The ECU includes a lock operation determination unit and an actuator control unit. The lock operation determination unit unlocks the pedal lever when an approaching object from behind is detected during a travel of a vehicle in the locked state.

The present invention relates generally to the field of lane-keeping devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a device that is primarily comprised of a housing, further comprised of at least one button, at least one laser emitter, a battery, and a light sensor. Further, the device is comprised of a bottom wall, further comprised of at least one fastener. The device is also comprised of a top wall that may be comprised of a solar panel to power the device. Further, the device, via laser emitter, emits a light beam directed out in front of the vehicle onto the roadway. The light beam shown on the roadway allows the driver of the vehicle to know precisely where in the lane their vehicle is located. The device further allows for the light emitter to be changed to encompass an array of different intensities and distances.
