AUGMENTED AUDIO ENHANCED PERCEPTION SYSTEM
A method of using an augmented audio enhanced perception system, comprising: tracking at least one object with at least one helmet mounted sensing unit; processing at least one of the at least one tracked object and an ambient sound by a processing unit; and, providing at least one of a synthesized audio signal and a processed ambient sound to a first user of the system using an audio interface unit, to provide information concerning the at least one object to the first user.
PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE AND OPERATION ASSISTANCE METHOD
Provided are a projection type display device and an operation assistance method that enable an operator to enjoy an operation assistance function even in the case of occurrence of abnormality in an optical modulation unit or an image information input unit during operation of a vehicle. A system control unit 47 of a HUD, if sensing abnormality in an optical modulation device 44 and a drive unit 45, stops a light source unit 40 and, furthermore, in the case of image information generated by a projected image information generation unit 52 including image information that calls attention of the operator to the front field of view, displays an alert image based on the image information on a liquid crystal display device 61 in a meter cluster.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SOUND SIGNAL OF VEHICLE, AND DEVICE OF OUTPUTTING SOUNG SIGNAL
An apparatus includes: a driving route calculator configured to obtain vehicle information about a vehicle and calculate a driving path of the vehicle; an object detector configured to detect an object near the vehicle or the driving path of the vehicle using one or more sensors mounted on the vehicle, and obtain object information on the object; and an acoustic signal processor configured to control a frequency and a volume of an acoustic signal based on the vehicle information and the object information, and transmit the acoustic signal to a speaker mounted on the vehicle.
Blind Spot Detection Systems And Methods
Example blind spot detection systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a primary vehicle detects a secondary vehicle ahead of the primary vehicle in an adjacent lane of traffic. A method determines dimensions of the secondary vehicle and estimates a vehicle class associated with the secondary vehicle based on the dimensions of the secondary vehicle. The method also identifies a side-view mirror location on the secondary vehicle and determines a blind spot associated with the secondary vehicle based on the vehicle class and the side-view mirror location.
BRAKE-BY-WIRE BRAKING SYSTEM
A brake-by-wire braking system for a vehicle having at least two wheels which are able to be braked is described. The braking system comprises at least two brake actuator units, each of which can be associated with one of the wheels of the vehicle which are able to be braked. The braking system further comprises a brake actuation unit for actuation by the driver for braking, having at least one sensor for detecting an activation of the brake actuation unit by the driver, an acceleration actuation unit having at least one sensor for detecting the activation of the acceleration actuation unit by the driver, and at least one electronic control unit which is adapted to operate one or both of the brake actuator units in order to bring about a braking force at an associated wheel. The control unit is adapted to operate the brake actuator units on the basis of an activation of the acceleration activation unit in the event of a fault or failure of the brake actuation unit.

WEATHER DATA WITH CONNECTED VEHICLES
A system for providing weather conditions to a target vehicle includes a plurality of sensors mounted within the target vehicle adapted to measure weather conditions at the target vehicle and a computer processor adapted to collect data of weather conditions at the target vehicle from the plurality of sensors mounted within the target vehicle, collect data of measured weather conditions of at least one known location remote from the target vehicle, and build a temporal-spatial effectiveness model adapted to estimate weather conditions of at least one unknown location remote from the target vehicle using the data of weather conditions at the target vehicle and the data of measured weather conditions of the at least one known location remote from the target vehicle.

CROSS-TRAFFIC WARNING SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A cross-traffic warning system for a motor vehicle includes first and second input devices transmitting associated first and second input signals for first and second detected objects positioned on the roadway. The system further includes a computer having one or more processors and a computer readable medium storing instructions. The processor is programmed to determine that the first object is a Vulnerable Road User (“VRU”) travelling on a first path based on the first input signal. The processor is further programmed to determine that the second object is a third party vehicle and further that the VRU and the third party vehicle are travelling on an associated one of first and second paths to imminently collide with one another based on the first and second input signals. The processor is further programmed to generate an actuation signal in response to the processor determining the imminent collision.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
A vehicle control system that allows a vehicle to travel easily and smoothly on a slippery road, a bumpy road, and a narrow road. A controller of the vehicle control system comprises: a running condition determiner that determines whether the vehicle travels under the particular condition; a control mode selector that selects one of vehicle speed control modes; and a driving force controller that controls a driving force such that an actual vehicle speed is adjusted to a target vehicle sped based on the selected vehicle speed control mode.
